If you have an animal control-only related EMERGENCY (dangerous dog, dog or cat bite) contact Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Animal Services at 336-727-2112. DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER FOR ANIMAL SHELTER related questions!

While our pets don't need "human food" - we understand the urge to share a bite with them, especially on holidays. If you choose to do so, be sure the food you share is safe for them (and has no added spices, sugar, butter, etc). If you have questions or concerns prior to giving your pet new foods, be sure to check with your veterinarian.

You can share a few healthy bites with your canine friends when you're celebrating Thanksgiving this week, just be sure any of the "approved" foods are plain with no added seasonings or butter, etc. If you are concerned about letting your pet try new foods, be sure to check with your vet first.

Willow (formerly Sally) living her very best life with her family!

We adopted Willow (aka: Sally) on October 18, 2023. She has 3 Brothers and she fits right in. Willow will be loved forever by all of us.

Our volunteers have put in over 500 HOURS in the last 3 months!! THANKS VOLUNTEERS!!

In an effort to provide more convenient and accessible customer service and streamline operations to our citizens, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services Division administrative personnel will be relocating their operations effective December 4, 2023. Personnel will be moving from the Forsyth County Animal Shelter to the Forsyth County Public Safety Center (FCPSC), located at 301 N. Church St. Winston-Salem, NC 27101.

All questions related to any animal that may be housed at the Forsyth County Animal Shelter or regarding adoption of animals from the shelter should still be directed to the Forsyth County Animal Shelter by calling (336) 703-2480 or by visiting their website, https://bit.ly/47aKUya.

Beginning December 4, 2023, all individuals who have been issued civil citations for animal related violations will need to pay those fines at the FCPSC through the public records window of the Sheriff’s Office. The FCPSC public lobby is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., closed holidays and weekends.
