CDC says Americans can now go unmasked in many parts of the country The federal health agency released new guidance for when Americans need to mask up indoors, saying about 70% of the population lives in a place where it's safe to go mask free.

Greetings! I was waiting to post this message here because I didn't want to share bad news without sharing some good news. The bad news is that my beloved Daisy got loose over this past weekend and she was hit by a car. The amazingly good news is Daisy has managed to heal so much on her own, she will return home tomorrow! You might see her in my office as she recovers. As a side note, her treatment team at UF today called her "feisty." If you know Daisy, yep, she's feisty alright! :) (Photo from National Night Out in 2021)

SO excited that this year's FMHCA conference is back in-person! We're having a hybrid conference so those who want to participate, but don't feel comfortable being around a lot of people can participate virtually. New “No Surprise” Billing Regulations for Behavioral Health Care Providers Starting January 1, 2022, behavioral health care providers will be required by law to give uninsured and self-pay clients a good faith estimate of costs for services when scheduling care or when the client requests an estimate.

Daisy has had a very bad ear infection (she’s prone to them since a wee pup). Here’s Daisy at the Vet - we had just walked in and she was ready to leave. Good news! Her ear is much better! 😃 She hasn’t been to the office lately because she desperately needs a bath (and I was protecting her ear from any water). She’s looking forward to getting back to work soon! 😃

Greetings! I have an announcement: After over a decade of working evenings, I am honoring my circadian rhythm 😊and I am dropping my evening hours. I have expanded my daytime hours. New in-person office hours are: Mondays 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Tuesdays 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, and Thursdays 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. I have seen clients in-person since the Pandemic started, and I continue to do so according to CDC guidelines. I also offer telehealth appointments via a HIPAA compliant platform. Hope each of you is well! 😃

I read an article by local News Chanel 6 this morning which reported Child Predators have significantly increased preying on our children compared to data from last year. The article made an analogy -- having our kids on computers, alone, is akin to leaving them at a park alone. These predators are skillful in connecting with our kids online.
