After 2 hours of hard conditioning & fight drills then 40 rounds of full on sparring , I was awarded my black belt!

Definitely up there with one of the hardest things I’ve achieved. Big thankyou to Shihan Oldman River & Shihan Scott Bond plus all the other Combat & Arena Kyokushin Karate crew that came down today to help in making me earn my stripes.

Bruising is well worth it !

Schedule it!

I'm not saying it's easy

I'm not saying that "we all have the same 24 hours"...
..because for some people it's A LOT EASIER to fit in a workout within those 24 hours as someone else in a completely different situation

But, if you're busy...
..and have made the decision that consistently exercising needs to be a priority in your life

But you're struggling to make it happen

Sometimes one of the best ways to do this is to actually schedule it into your calendar

View it as a non-negotiable business meeting or event you MUST attend

Block off everything else during that time

Can't afford to block off an hour?

Block off 45 minutes

45 minutes is still too much?

Block off 30

And so on...

If you say it's a priority, make it a priority.

But make it realistic

Figure out how much time you can realistically invest into your daily schedule

It's better to do LESS than you want to but something that is still realistic then to shoot for an unrealistic amount of time that you keep putting off and doesn't actually fit your schedule

The reality is, most of it is crap. And by most of it I mean 99% of it.

If you want to get stronger, be leaner, and have an amazing quality of life, you should double down on basic things.

On consistently getting into the gym ,
strength and cardiovascular training.

On consistently eating a well rounded and nutritious diet.

Stop comparing your results with other people’s results.

Why? Because you only notice the people doing better than you.

That can be demoralizing.

You don’t know what their life is like.

You don’t know how their body works.

Focus. On. You

Most people aren’t doing as well as you.

In fact, they are probably doing much worse.

You don’t notice them though.

I’m not saying that to make you feel better (well maybe a little 😇)

If you try your best you’ll get the result you want.

It will probably take longer than you want.

Even if your progress is slow you’ll probably still have many people wishing they were getting the results you are.

Stick to you plan. No matter what.

Deep down you know you can do it 😊

Can bodyweight tell you everything you need to know about your health? Absolutely not!

Although weight is an important component of health, it’s not the only thing to consider when assessing overall health. Because of this, many people have begun using more advanced methods of testing such as body composition scanners, like the Evolt 360. Traditional scales and other measurements of health, like BMI, have become an antiquated method of scoring overall health using height and weight alone as the measurement. The problem with BMI is that it cannot establish the content of the weight i.e. muscle mass or body fat.
