✨ Like nanna, like granddaughter...happy at the beach. ♡

Yesterday was my beautiful nannas funeral. Whilst I unfortunately couldn't physically be there with my family in Wales, I had my own little goodbye on the beach at sunset toasting her long life.

My nan was my penpal, we'd write letters every few months, so it was only fitting that I wrote her one last letter to be read at the funeral so I could be there in my own way.

We grieve so much in life - the passing of loved ones, the fading of friendships, the end of relationships and so on...

I think it's really important to not be too 'strong' at these times and to feel all the emotions in their waves ♡

Happy 2022 ✨

After some valued time offline and an incredible time away in nature with special friends I'm back and so ready to get back teaching and moving and creating and growing in all areas of life!

For our small break away from the city we spent our time on the LAKE, in the RAINFOREST and at the BEACH. All areas so beautiful in their difference - just like us. ♡

My "goals" this year:

• GRATITUDE more

Move

Don't overthink it, just get up and move your worthy body. There are so many fun, feel-good ways to get your movement in that you simply should not settle for putting yourself through a torturous workout.

Pilates, dance and shake ya b***y, try rock climbing, Pilates, go for a hike and explore a new area, swimming in the ocean, Pilates.... the possibilities are endless. I truly believe there is something for everyone you've just got to experiment and try new things.

We as human beings are made to move!!! You'll only feel better for it.

Motivation

It comes and goes just as all feelings do. A few simple things that help me find my motivation for exercise;

- Scheduling the movement into my daily and weekly calender, then ticking it off to feel a sense of accomplishment
- Music, always, the tempo & genre depends on my mood and what movement I'll be doing
- Accountability, working out with a friend or partner either physically together or online really keeps me committed
- Why, I'll often remind myself why I'm choosing to move my body and keep that vision and reason in my mind

But, when the motivation still does not appear, discipline kicks in. When you do the thing you don't feel like doing, that's when you really grow stronger in mind and body.

✨ Sunday, my favourite day of the week

Early morning beach walk, oat cap, pilates, background music, tidy house-tidy mind, indulgent food, planning.

These are a few non-negotiables for my Sunday that help set the tone for the coming week.

Life is busy, so planning your movement by putting it into your schedule will help to keep you more committed & consistent!

This weeks schedule with Tippy Bird:
Full Body Burn - Monday 7am
Hump Day Cardio - Wednesday 7am
Glutes & Abs - Thursday 1pm
Full Body Flow - Friday 7am

Tippy Bird, my passion project of '21

I spent many days during the never ending Melbourne lockdown flipping between do I? don't I? when thinking about starting my own online Pilates space. With the amount of teachers out there switching to virtual teaching, it was way too easy to compare myself to others who were already in my eyes, 'successful', it was way too easy to convince myself the space was already filled with an abundance of awesome instructors so why would the world need another? it was way too easy to get overwhelmed with the amount of things to think about when it came to the business/marketing/branding side of things. HOWEVER, I know that success looks different to every body, I know that I've got something different to offer in my approach to Pilates - to quote the incredible .logan "you are the only person who can do what you do the way you do it", and I know I can challenge myself to learn about the 'business' side of things little by little.
