It’s National Reconciliation Week, where we acknowledge and learn about Aboriginal culture and perspective’s.
At Eltham Preschool we understand the importance of celebrating the Indigenous history of our country and the rich learning experiences this brings to our children.

Nature play is a very important part of the program at Eltham Preschool. We understand that children’s connection to the environment promotes so many different areas of child development, including building connections in their world, peer relationships and dispositions for learning🌿

Grand Opening! It's here, our brand new cubby!

We were joined this morning by Vicki Ward, to help and share in celebrating the grand opening of our already much loved and cherished cubby.

Eltham Preschool and Bush Kinder are very grateful and would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to all our kinder families and to the broader Eltham community, who have so generously donated to our fundraisers over these last few years, of which have been held in conjunction with Eltham Bunnings, Edendale Community Environment Farm, Brent's Patisserie, Bakers Delight and Diamond Creek Rotary Tram Cafe.

Here at Eltham Preschool and Bush Kinder we love being part of and supporting our community!

We were recently selected by the Eltham Hotel to be included in their "Eltham Gives Back" fundraising initiative, alongside other community organisations; the Eltham Cricket and SES Nillumbik Unit.

If you're out for a bite to eat with family or friends this festive season, you'll receive a gumnut to place in your jar of choice, for $30 you spend.

Yesterday, Eltham Preschool and Bush Kinder were excited to have the privilege of hosting and welcoming back Boori Monty Pryor!

Our 4-year olds listened closely, learning about medicine trees, the Indigenous butterfly story and danced to his didgeridoo. The children were amazed that the indigenous people used the liquid from crushed leaves to keep the mosquitoes away!

Such a wonderful, rich learning experience for all. We thank you and cannot wait to have you back soon!

Eltham Preschool has been lucky enough to host the donated artwork of local artist Joan Denison, of the famed 'iso chooks' that we see around our community.
We were so excited to have Joan deliver her artwork today and meet the children. Vicki Ward MP Member for Eltham was also in attendance to welcome our new artwork!
To celebrate the occasion the children made craft chickens in honour of Joan.
It was a privilege to welcome Joan and Vicki Ward to Eltham Preschool and Bush Kinder today. The children were very excited and it was a wonderful learning experience for the four year old group!

Our Eltham Preschool and Bush Kinder is excited to be opening our doors to everyone for the Nillumbik Shire Council Preschool Open Day tomorrow, Saturday 18th February from 10am - 1pm.

Come along and join us for some fun activities, a tour of our indoor and large outdoor natural play areas and to chat with educators and families about our 2023 Kinder programs for 3 and 4 years olds.

Well my darlings, last day of the year and time for me to handover the page to someone new. I hope you have enjoyed seeing snippets of our kinder days as much as I have enjoyed sharing them for the last 3.5years. I know everyone thinks their kinder is special, but Eltham really is. I have enjoyed amazing support from all our PAG committees, kinder families and Allied Health professionals since I joined and as I’ve have said before Kirsten and Larysa have been the best team to work with. It’s been such a privilege to share your children’s kinder journey and they have made me laugh out loud each and every day. They’re the best! And so on behalf of the team I wish you all a wonderful 2022. I hope it’s filled with good health, safe travels, love, kindness and laughter… there has to be laughter… 🥰

There should be a saying ‘behind every teacher is an amazing team’. This last 2 years have been a challenge, without doubt, but I’ve been truly blessed to work with an amazing team in Kirsten & Larysa and our wonderfully supportive PAG. Our PAG have worked tirelessly to raise awareness and funds for our kinder and to drop everything to hold working bees when we have gone into lockdowns and continued to support us in any way they could. I’m truly grateful.
Kirsten and Larysa have been a joy to work with, we’ve laughed, oh my, so much laughter! And their unwavering support when I’ve come up with some random idea or said yes to something that really put us under the pump, they’ve never once said no, eye rolled, yes! But they’ve worked it out and got the job done. Everything that happens at our kinder happens because these people say yes, and for that the children and myself have been truly blessed 😊♥️
