" Most cynics are really crushed romantics: they’ve been hurt, they’re sensitive, and their cynicism is a shell that’s protecting this tiny, dear part in them that’s still alive."
Jeff Bridges

This is an ad for a 'professional' editor tool for photographers doing portraits. I think she looks better before, which is a shot still likely to be edited. What is this fashion? Why can't photos be taken of girls in their natural beauty. Why are her brown eyes blue? What is wrong with freckles? I absolutely hate the second photo simply because she looks dollified as if that is an acceptable standard of beauty for women. What was wrong with the photo before? This attitude is not professional at all in my opinion.

Once I had started my solitude, I realized anew that it was easy for me to become accustomed to this state and that the most effortless existence for me was in fact in one in which I was not obliged to speak to anyone. My fretful attitude to life left me. Each dead day had its charm. —Yukio Mishima

Interacting with other people does not come naturally to me; it is a strain and requires effort, and since it does not come naturally I feel like I am not really myself when I make that effort. I feel fairly comfortable with my family, but even with them I sometimes feel the strain of not being alone. ―Peter Cameron
