We will be opening registration to new members once we have our current members registered - This will be around mid august that we open it up.

MPBC's very own Abi who currently plays in our U19 teams has been named Ref of the Month!! Congrats Abi for all of your efforts to keep kids playing our favourite sport, basketball!!

Congratulations to Abi Watt who has been selected as the Physioworks Health Group Referee of the Month for April!

Earlier this year, Abi achieved her C Grade and since has continued to grow in confidence when on the floor. Abi shines when officiating our Saturday Junior competition, where she goes out of her way to talk to the U8 and U10 players to help them understand the game and why specific calls are being made.

MPBC would like to thank all of our volunteers today who gave time to help cook some of the 624 sausages at our Bunnings Cranbourne BBQ.
To all of our wonderful members who supported with donations, your generosity has allowed us to put ALL the sales of the BBQ back to our member’s end of year event.

Today our club is hosting the BBQ at Bunnings Cranbourne between 9am-4pm.
We'd love to see you come down and support the club by buying a sausage in bread (or 2!) & a drink, to help raise money for our club's end of year event. With now over 460 registered members we'd love to be able to do something fun to help celebrate our growing basketball family.

Winter Season is away! While the Juniors still have a couple of weeks off (lucky ducks) our Senior teams open their Winter campaigns this week. And this season we get to welcome one of our new teams, the Joggers!! You may recognise some familiar faces from our committee, coaches or mums of our younger members. Best of luck for your first game tonight ladies, we hope you have ball!! 🏀

Here we are at the GRAND FINALS for the Summer 23/24 season! We have 7 teams through to the big dance on Saturday and 3 more on Sunday. We'd love to see as many of our members and families down at Casey Stadium over the weekend in purple to cheer them on. We're so incredibly proud of all our teams this season, but we wish these 10 teams the best of luck for getting a win to close out the season!

Tonight we held a longer training session dedicated to D-FENCE!! Coach Katie took our kids and coaches through topics and drills such as defensive stance, cylinder, split line, court positioning & defensive player positioning. Lots of smiles on court as everyone learned some new or reinforced skills to apply to their games. We hope to run some more sessions like these in the future on different areas of the game. Let us know below if you liked it or what topics we should cover next!

We’d like to give a big shout out and thank you to one of our newest Coaches: Evan Jones!
Evan signed up his daughter to MPBC just under 1 year ago in the Winter 23 season, and 6 months later he became the U14 Stars’ coach! Having a background in managing small businesses and a love for many sports including martial arts, Evan is a wonderful asset to the MPBC coaching family. He brings his sharp focus and caring nature to every session and every game. Always willing to learn, Evan always speaks with other coaches for guidance, has attended the Casey Ref session held for MPBC late last year and has already signed up for Community Coaching course.
These photos were taken at training recently where he did not hesitate to step in to take a team that wasn’t his due to illness of their regular coach. Its great when our volunteer coaches are able to assist each other to keep kids active!

This upcoming Winter season (starting in April) we will unfortunately have a reduction in coaches due to work and lifestyle changes. As a family orientated volunteer club, we absolutely respect their wishes and give them the biggest thanks for their time and dedication to all the kids they have coached.

So now we are on the lookout for the next wave of coaches to help us keep kids happy & on the courts! Our club continues to grow and our waitlist of kids wanting to join never gets smaller. Now more than ever we need help from our community to sub in and keep team MPBC thriving!

Are you a parent of a current member and have considered offering support to the team and the club? Do you know any other friends, family, co-workers or members of other groups that would be a perfect fit to coach basketball? If yes then we want to hear from you!!!

It's been an awesome year of growth in our club with record numbers now registered and playing, and a huge representation of purple in finals for the end of Winter season. We've been hard at work behind the scenes trying to make the day to day admin of the club as streamlined as possible for everyone, including listening to our members and starting the Members page which has been a great way to share all of your exciting team moments every week.
We will be offline for the next couple of weeks for a well deserved rest, and we hope you all enjoy the holiday season with family and loved ones.
Before you know it, we will see everyone back on court in 2024!!

Today we had the honour to celebrate 2 amazing humans who give so much to our wonderful club.

Bonny and Milly have been apart of MPBC since they were 8 years old! They continue to play in seniors and have been coaching for many years.

Between them every season they give their time to a group of kids and help them thrive on the court.

They don't coach out of obligation, as the rest of their family has long since grown up, they do it out of love for the kids, who wouldn't have a team without them.

Girls we are so grateful for all you do and hope to have you around for many years to come! You are honestly examples of truly selfless people!

Hello Members,
After overwhelming responds on the members survey - it has become apparent members are not liking Team App - so we are going to go with the majority (over 60%) who are wanting to have a members facebook group instead.

We will run both the FB group and Stack team app till the end of the year and then in the new year communication will just be done via the Facebook Group and Email.

Don't forget that our merch store is open EVERY DAY to place an order.
On the 15th of each month, all previous orders placed are put into production locally and will be posted directly to you roughly 4-5 weeks after the 15th.
