Annual Werribee Angling Club v Corio Bay Anglers fresh water comp has been fished at Lake purrumbete this weekend with Werribee taking home the trophy a lot of quality fish measured and released by both teams well done Werribee boys n girls looking forward to the next club comp.

This weeks competition was open water
First place went to Hayden Reynolds
With 2 nice trout 2 tuna and a new club record
Gummy shark 1.610 long
total estimated weight 35.500 kg
Second place Kyle Reynolds 1 gummy 2 tuna
And 2 salmon total estimated weight 29.650 kg
Third place David smith 1 tuna 1 trout estimated weight 12.900 kg
New club record with tuna as well both Hayden and Kyle both fish 1mt long

We had some quality fish weighed in with the biggest fish for the weekend going to Paul Hanley, great job Paul also Paul donated his catch to the members at the weigh in so everyone is eating snapper this week well done everyone who fished, tight lines.

Members hitting grey suits while snapper fishing last weekends open water comp. As temps heat up so does the fishing.

First Inter club comp between Werribee & Corio was held last weekend with Werribee winning in a super close comp by 200g lots of snapper and gummies weighed in and the start of a great friendship between the 2 clubs next year's comp will be a fresh water comp for the same trophy well done members and thank you corio bay anglers for catering and setting up the comp.

This weekends fishing comp Open Fresh (brag mat) has been fished by 10 members and won by Hayden Reynolds with Peter Hammer 2nd and Kyle Reynolds 3rd Kyle also took out the biggest fish for the weekend.
Most of the members got together and fished Bullen Merri and bagging out both days, most fish were released to fight another day.
Well done guys n girls tight lines.

Something local

A good weekend was had by all who fished the Twin Lakes Comp. 14 members fished and a dozen weighed in fish. Results as follows.
1. Peter Hammer, 5 Chinook totalling 189cm.
2. Hayley Hammer, 4 Chinook @ 144cm
3. Dave Smith, 3 Chinook @ 124cms
Steve Bowman good biggest fish with a 53cm Chinook.
Alan Brabazon won the Wyndham Harbour sponsored Mystery prize.

Members hitting gumbos last weekend

This weekend’s Comp was Open Water. It was sponsored by Werribee Upholstres & Motor Trimmers.
Unfortunately we didn’t have very good weather. A few hardy souls went out but only Darrel Kelaart had success. He good one 35cm Flatty which not only won the comp but got him the bingest fish.
To round out his good weekend Darrel also took out the Wyndham Harbour Mystery prize. A $30 voucher to Hooked on Bait & Tackle.
Congratulations to those few hardy souls who did venture out.
