It's never something anyone plans for, and while we usually help with toys, food, or school uniforms, this time it was a funeral. The emotional toll is immense on the hospital and us, but nothing compared to what these families endure.
Help us make it a bit easier?

Imagine young Harrison, just 9, separated from his mum on and off for over 300 days while his sister battles a serious illness.
Despite Harrison coping with ASD and ADHD, the distance took its toll on the young man. So we popped in to help make a day even more special.........

Without your help we cant continue.
Last Christmas, we supported Harry, a remarkable 9-year-old fully dependent on others due to severe physical disabilities from MECP2 Duplication Syndrome and seizures. His family, like many, struggled with the costs of his care during the festive season and had to prioritise his care and what that entail's above all else..
We played Santa for Harry and his sister, bringing joy with gifts like a mini projector and new PlayStation games—small gestures that made a significant difference. Games and being able to watch a movie seems frivolous, but in reality for many sick kids unable to go out or mix with others, these are more then just toys, but a way to feel normal and active.
Please consider helping us bring smiles to more children like Harry; your support can truly light up their lives.

We celebrated the birthdays of Jasmine, a brave 10-year-old in a wheelchair, & her sister Tessa. Jasmine faces the challenges of a rare neurometabolic disorder—a condition affecting brain metabolism that causes various neurological issues.
We provided a Barbie jumping castle and a fairy floss machine to ensure their special day was unforgettable.
This celebration was also a poignant remembrance of their brother Sufyan, who lost his battle to the same disorder. Their mother's deep gratitude reminds us of the impactful difference we can make.
Join us in wishing Jasmine and Tessa a joyous birthday!
Nathan, a brave young boy battling Prader-Willi Syndrome, is currently facing a critical time at Adelaide's Women’s and Children’s Hospital with multi-organ failure. As he faces a prolonged hospital stay, music has become his sanctuary.
Nathan's love for music therapy shines through as he sings, bringing light to even his toughest days. Recognising the power of music to uplift spirits, we provided him with a special gift—a portable music player—that brings joy not only to Nathan but also to his family and friends who stand by him during this challenging journey.
As Nathan continues to fight, your support can help us bring similar moments of happiness to more children facing long-term hospital stays.
Please consider contributing to our cause; your generosity can make a profound difference during their time of need. Head to our website and see where you can assist www.tlcforkids.org.au

Rugby was the answer, well sort of.
Andrew was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in 2022 and is unfortunately in continuous treatment . News isn’t always great but every day is another day of hope.
The hardest part for young Andrew is not being able to play Rugby with his siblings, as Andrew loves everything Rugby, it was time to get him what he wanted and that was a special set of NRL collector cards. We found them & now he has them.
Help comes in many forms; smiles & laughter being two of them.
Donors help make kids & families smile,, nothings more valuable to us and them.
Maybe Mum needs a helping hand, or a dryer?
Mahdi is like any six year old is always testing Mum, but with being non-verbal and developmentally delayed due to the side effects of ‘Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome’ which can cause causing brain, bone marrow and muscle damage over time. Mum needed a bit of help around the house, especially with Mahdi’s little brother getting in the mix.
So we bought them a dryer, simple!
Ever wondered where that donation $ goes? It’s like this and thousands more yearly. The more you help, the more we can.
Year in, year out, rarely a one off.
With Alice (8) continuing to require 24/7 care for her severe epilepsy, both her parents are now full time carers to ensure their daughter gets around the clock care. But this comes at an emotional & financial cost, as little is left for family activities, so we renewed a family pass to Sea-Life in Melbourne that we had helped them out with in 2023.
That $20, $50 or more, donated has an instant effect that can’t be quantified in just dollar’s. Every day the requests get bigger and more urgent.
That’s why we we are here..

We recognise that the cost of living crisis, rising interest rates, and inflation have impacted everyone. But imagine if you were already struggling and then faced a child's serious illness or found basic care services unreachable. At TLC for Kids, we help bridge this gap for families of sick children. Whether it's assisting with bills, arranging extra care, or fulfilling a simple wish, no need is too small. However, many needs today are greater, covering essentials from petrol to keep the car running for hospital visits to paying the electricity bill at home.
TLC for Kids is helping more and more families of sick children every day, and we never want to say no. With the help of donors like yourself, we don’t have to. At this time of year, we ask if you are able to assist in making even the simplest day-to-day expenses for families happen, let alone the extras that put a smile on these kids' faces. Help us bridge the gap and this EOY raise enough funds to continue what we do, and that’s care for those who need our care.
Our website www.tlcforkids.org.au will explain how simple the process is to donate, so we can help more kids this year.
A little battler if ever there was one.
Three-year-old Tom is bravely fighting a debilitating form of Sepsis, facing multiple surgeries and future amputations. Amidst these challenges, his family relocated to Adelaide for his care.
A classic distraction was needed—Hello Adelaide Zoo! A zoo pass for the family promises many days of joy, especially when Tom can, in the future, join the family outing. Its making the battle bearable for the family as well as the child in need.

Sometimes we need to look after the family, not just the sick child.
We were referred to family whose youngest, Kate (4) who has level 4 Neuroblastoma, whose family, not unlike many in this day and age, are stretching an ever tightening budget.
In this case the budget wasn’t available to start her big brother off in a new uniform for his first day at school, so we stepped in.
Keeping the family going as normal as possible is a goal.
