Good afternoon everyone, this year we are honoured to bring you back the ALAN MURDOCH OPEN to be held on the 6th of October. It will be running exactly as the normal VKL for the Elite Devisions. Slightly different for the Development as we always have to merge some divisions, we have cut out just a few divisions and combined them.
We will be running it as a fundraiser for some of our athletes that will be competing overseas and we would like if you all would be able to support us with this tournament.

What a Great weekend, these Girls fought very hard in their own Devisions. And then worked so hard for their State to win Gold in the Cadets Female Kumite. We are so proud of you all. Thank you to all the coaches helping towards this great win. 👊👊

Great session last night with Sensei Nghia. A world class referee working with our athletes in refining all the techniques, so that our Athletes will be ready for the nationals in a few weeks time. Thank you Sensei Nghia for helping us with your level of expertise.

An amazing training session this morning and evening with a great Coach Junior Lefevre also with my best friend Sensei Morgan as we have known each other more then 30 years, and still going Strong. Thank you for a great day. 👊👊👊

It’s was a great night for our Shukokai club at the 50th Anniversary KV dinner. Our new Assistant Coach Daniel Tielen joining in the KV coaching panel. Kit Lovegrove been the only KV Kata / Kumite Coach. Our young new Athlete Dardan Jahiu receiving young Gun of the year. Yvette Stolk receiving veteran Athlete of the year. And Daniel Tielen Celebrates outstanding Athlete Performance!

First stop - the Austrian Open. Tahnysha had a great day on the mats. She finished 3rd in the Junior -53kgs and the U18 Open, narrowly missing the final against a strong opponent from Germany (2-1). Next stop - Croatia for the WKF Youth Training Camp.

Great weekend at the VKL Shukokai. We would like to express our deep gratitude to all the Clubs, Athletes, Coaches, Referees, Volunteers, table Officials, Parents and First Aiders who participated in the VKL Shukokai Cup 2024. Also a Special thanks to my team running the Canteen Flat chat, as well as the tournament managers trying to running it as best as they could do and still finishing on time.
Once again we thank you all for coming from all over Victoria, and for your great efforts and dedication, we were able to make this event a great success. 👊

The team for the Commonwealth Championships in Bangladesh in September has just been announced.
Congratulations to our Shukokai Athletes, Tahnysha Theodore,for making the U21,and Senior Kumite. Yvette Stolk, Senior Kumite. And Anetta Faik, for Cadets Kumite. Whom have been selected in the Australian team for this event.

Great weekend at The Aussie open. Congratulations to all our Shukokai Athletes that have worked so hard to get there and did they very best to achieve any results. Thank you to all the Parents taking their time to bring their Children, also helping out behind the scene as their is always lots of work needed to be done. Thank you to our coach kit doing a great job as per usual. A big Congratulations to all the Athletes that had a chance to Medal, lots of work which it payed off at the end. Also a big congratulations to Daniel on achieving 4 Gold Medals including winning Oceania Senior +84kg.

After several days of training last night's was our final training session. We would like to thank Ish*tobi Hanshi, Mizoguchi Shihan, Stephen Kelly Shihan and to Craig Catania Shihan putting all this together plus the rest of the Oceania SSKU group.
Well done to everyone who participated, and Graded, it was so great to see so many Students and Instructors from all over SSKU clubs there. It was really a great few days working together.

Thank you to all the Parents and our Senior members who travelled to Donvale bringing their children and participated in the seminars. I know it's quite a commitment to get there, especially during week night.
I really appreciated you support and all your dedication from our club.

I hope you all enjoyed the training with the Master Ish*tobi and Mizoguchi Sensei as much as we all did. It’s was really worth while.
Hope we will see more from our club there next time.

Sh*toryu Shukokai Union Victoria is very excited to host two fantastic coaches from Japan.

Seiko Kurumaji Sensei and Rimi Kajikawa Sensei will be holding a training seminar over the weekend of the 23rd to the 25th of February.

Bookings for this not to be missed Seminar are now open.

Seiko Sensei is currently the Prefecture coach (a very high position in Japan).

Kajikawa Sensei is a multiple international and all Japan champion.

This Seminar is suitable for all levels of experience and I'd encourage you to attend.

Open to Juniors & Senior Green belt and above.

Childrens seminar (Friday night) is just $25

Teens and Adults (Saturday afternoon) is just $35
