Today marks 6 years since I announced the opening of Dynamic Health and Recovery.

The term Dynamic, for me, symbolizes the direction I've always wanted my career to take and how I saw myself and practitioners around me working with clients within the business.

In 2023, I made the decision that I wouldn't be renewing the lease of the warehouse clinic that was once my greatest dream...things change, we change and the things we find fulfilling we no longer do for whatever reason.
As humans, we reserve the right to change our mind and for me, the warehouse wasn't something that gave me joy after having my daughter.

Now, at the 6 mark of this business I find myself in a calm but exciting new space with equally as enthusiastic and motivated people about their work.
I find myself once again able to move in a dynamic manner and have some pretty exciting opportunities coming my way in regard to work.

Thank you to everyone who has come along for this ride. Some of you have been with me since the beginning of my career at Doherty's in 2013, or even from my football days before that.

Much love,
Flick x

My hours actually haven't changed in nearly a year, but so you officially know what my movements are here it is on the grid.

Wednesday is a special day for me as I spend the whole day with my daughter. It was always a dream of mine as I was building my career that if and when the universe gave me a family I would be able to adjust my hours and show my little human all the amazing things in life. I think this is where actually came from.

The only evening you can book with me is a Monday and unfortunately I don't take new clients in the evenings or weekends.

As always, if you need anything, message through socials or on the clinic number 0412488116.

I am speechless and overwhelmed by the love I have received this week already about the move. Even though it's a short week I feel like I've been treating you all here for ages.

How good is the atmosphere?!
How good is the parking?!
How much simpler does this make things?!
How nice are the guys in the gym?!

Amazing! So easy! You have no idea 😍. And I know right, like family! Are my answers.

I feel so damn lucky to be working with you all at my new location, it's like nothing has changed.

It's me, hi, I'm your Myo, it's me.

I LOVE getting to know you as people during the time we spend together. Be it a longer journey or short, please share as much or as little as you want.

*I enjoyed writing the opening line to this caption more than I should have 😂

Louder for those in the back please.

I am loving the tone of conversation for 2024. Most people coming through the doors have such positive energy and intentions for this year.
I'm getting a lot of 'presence', 'mindfulness', 'gratitude', 'abundance' and mantras like 'let it be', 'come what may', and 'inhale good s**t and exhale bulls**t' 😂.

I sat down for a coffee (and biscoff brownie) this afternoon with a new friend of mine, you'll meet them shortly and it's so refreshing to hear people talk about their plans for work, business, family and goals.

For a lot of people I know, '23 was the year to blow it all up. If you needed big change in your life, blow it up and lay down the foundation for what is to come....
I would LOVE to hear your plans and goals for this year. I am your hype girl for all things so hit me with all your juicy plans when you come see me next.

23/12/2023

Thank you to every single person who supported our work in 2023. It means a lot!

As always, your trust in us to care for you is amazing, and why we do what we do. We are incredibly grateful for people who refer and recommend to others 🫶

We've laughed, cried, and shared every emotion together this year. It really has been one of those years to remember.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.
Watch this space closely for some very exciting updates as we moved into 2024.

Many people aren’t too sure what a chiropractic adjustment is and how they work so here is a short explanation!!
Most of the joints in our body are synovial joints. This means that our joints are made up of two articulating surfaces which are separated by a cartilage lined fluid. This fluid aids lubrication and prevents the two surfaces from grinding together. This fluid also helps our joints take on the impact of forces put through our bodies.

When our joints are overstretched or tensioned, a build up of carbon dioxide gas can form. When Chiropractors adjust the joints in your body they help to release these gasses through a fast separation of two articulating surfaces. This is what causes the famous cracking sound that most people associate with an adjustment. In turn pressure is released within the joint and surrounding musculature. This release of gas facilitates optimal spinal function!

So in a nutshell nothing is actually being cracked! Tension is being released!
Note that not every adjustment is about hearing an audible sound, it is about proprioceptive input into the body!

Nope! It does not!

Thanks to to Flick's recent pregnancy, some research and a study by Cronin, 2019 we have evidence to show there is NO DIFFERENCE between sleeping on the left or right side when pregnant.

It has long been believed that as the uterus grows it may obstruct venous return and cardiac output and the advice was to lay on your left side only when sleeping. The risk of obstruction is far higher when laying on your back, so mummas-to-be feel free to roll over and get comfy - just make sure you're not laying on your back after the first trimester.

⚠️ Always adhere to the advice shared by your obstetric team when pregnant. They may have specific information for you regarding your individual pregnancy.

SUNDAY SCARIES

You might call it something else or not have a name for this feeling. Gosh! You might not even recognize that this exists.

How do you feel as Sunday draws to a close? Do you get any kind of anxiety as the last precious hours of the weekend start to slip away? Do you preemptively start to think about the 40 hours of work you have coming up in the new week?

Sounds a bit silly doesn't it, but it's a real thing and yes, it can be cured!

Make sure you're doing something you love, or filling your week and your time with things that bring you joy!
Define what success means to you. This will help you set goals and intentions for your week and your day to day. It makes it easier to get the hard work done and create meaningful results.

When you really tune into something you love with intentions and goals 🤯 no more Sunday Scaries and a whole lot more success and happiness.

*Full disclosure - If Flick and Mon were hiding around the corners of your house like this...there is no cure for your Scaries.

Burnout is a real thing, especially this year.

Can you believe we're in November of 2022?
This year we have spoken with so many of you and a common theme is burnout and exhaustion.
Some of you have taken some really proactive steps forward to combat some dark days and others have kept paddling along hoping for the tide to turn.

We ourselves at times have stepped away from our roles as practitioners to find peace or just get out and do the things that 2020 and 2021 didn't allow, or rearranged other aspects of our lives that don't serve us a positive purpose and for that we are better people and professionals for it.

This is a gentle reminder to be kind to yourself if you've been paddling along this year and maybe it's time to take a good look at how you'd like to see this year out and bring in a new one.
It's never too early or too late.

MY CHIRO EXPERIENCE AND WHAT WE DO!

✨Growing up in a family who have always relied on a GP for musculoskeletal issues meant I hadn’t had a whole lot of exposure to allied health when I was younger! I was very active in sport growing up and i needed treatment for injuries of my own, so i was introduced to Chiropractic by a friend as a teen! I had a very positive experience and wanted to learn more about complementary medicine and how it helps people!

✨Fast forward a few years and here I am! I love being a Chiropractor and helping individuals along on their health journey! I find so much pleasure in watching my clients reach their goals and i am so grateful to be a part of that!

✨Chiropractors offer a large range of treatment types! You will find that we all practice a little differently to each other and that there is no one size fits all approach! Our treatments are tailored to your needs and we all have the same goal which is to help you!

✨I use a variety of techniques with my patients including:
👉🏻Soft tissue techniques
👉🏻Manual adjusting
👉🏻Low force techniques such as drop piece, activator and blocking
👉🏻Taping and cupping
👉🏻Rehab exercise prescription
👉🏻Ergonomic advice

✨Common conditions that I treat in clinic include:
💥Headaches
💥Neck, mid and lower back pain
💥Joint and muscle stiffness and aches
💥Muscle spasms/weakness
💥Muscle, joint and ligamentous injuries
💥Postural issues
💥Jaw issues
💥Scoliosis
💥Extremity (arm, leg, hand and foot) issues
💥Sporting injuries

If you want to learn a little more about how Chiro might help you! Please don’t be shy! Send me a message! 🙌🏻📩

The unique perspective we all bring to the table is incredible.

During the last week a client asked me "if you could change something about other people what would it be?"
My first response given the world events during the week was "that people would stop being as****es to each other".

After really taking some time out this weekend to reflect and fill my own cup back up, I still think that, but I think it would be to simply allow each individual to see one another's perspective on situations. You never really know where someone else is coming from in any situation even if you hear every part of their side.

This week I wish everyone patience and perspective.

These stretches are pretty common for a lot of people when putting together a stretch or core/glute activation program.

💫 The first stretch is a very simple forward bend traditionally used to stretch the hips, hamstrings and calves. The movement of bending forward and returning up keeps your spine both flexible and strong.

💫 The second is a super common glute bridge. Stretching the chest, neck, spine and hips as well as strengthening the back, glutes and hamstrings 🎉 double whammy!
But wait, there's more..... anecdotally this movement has been shown to improve blood circulation and aid in stress relief when performed regularly.

Choose your regular exercises to be something that services your lengthening and strengthening needs, as well as provides a moment silence or down time.

WET FOOT TEST

Do you have a high risk of developing plantar fasciitis?

An arch of particular concern are the "flat foot' walkers, also known as over-pronators. This is where the arch of the foot collapses onto the ground as you walk (first picture in second slide).
The arch is placed under excessive stress when walking and does not effectively absorb impact with each step, leading to pain and possibly progressing into plantar fasciitis.

The recommend shoe type for people who over-pronate is one with stability and motion control. While we can't prescribe you a specific shoe type here, we can look at your risk factors and assess whether an alternative shoe or lifestyle modification may be required.

Thank you to our community of followers, friends, clients and family for your continued dedication to your health and recovery during these challenging times.
We continue to do our absolute best to juggle the normal tasks of managing a business with waitlists, cancellations and the isolation and testing of clients and practitioners.

We'd like to take this opportunity to remind you of our cancellation policy. It is imperitive that our business adhere to our policy in place to help us cope with the aforementioned challenges. As always, if you need to cancel or reschedule please give as much notice as possible, late cancellations and no-shows will incur a fee, payable prior to booking your next appointment here.

Some changes to our regular appointment availability may come into place pending attendance numbers, bookings and physical/mental health of our practitioners. Please be kind to all involved as we navigate our way through.

As always, we thank each and every person for your understanding and thank you all for your commitment to yourselves within our space here at Dynamic Health and Recovery.

25/12/2021

Stress and Anxiety.

Not usually our area of expertise, but when we study to become health practitioners we do learn about the affects of stress and anxiety on the body. For your benefit, we're not going to bore you with those details, but we are going to share these coping techniques with you.

Try these as individual concepts or together as a ritual...there's no rules as to how you use these techniques.

Hopefully they can help you if you are feeling a little stress, overwhelmed, anxious or confused in whatever situation you find yourself.

Remember: no one is quite themselves at the moment, so be kind, thoughtful and grateful to and for those around you.

Who is Moneta?

Moneta has had a keen fascination with the human body from a young age. Having experienced many injuries herself during her bodybuilding and powerlifting days, she understands how debilitating (and quite frankly, annoying) these can be when you’ve got a goal to reach.

She studied personal training and herbal medicine before finally deciding to take the plunge into Myotherapy - a modality she has personally found most useful for her niggles. Since beginning the Clinical Myotherapy degree four years ago, she has been working as a remedial massage therapist in various spaces. She has also worked at local soccer clubs around the western suburbs.

She is obsessed with dogs, houseplants and Harry Potter.

Moneta is passionate about empowering her clients through manual therapy, movement, and educating her patients on how and why we experience pain.

Anterior knee pain in the young athlete.

This can be common in young people who engage in a lot of physical activity. - Follow these steps to see if you can gain some relief of your pain.

Decreased loading can be beneficial for a period of time depending on the duration of the pain you have had, although coming out of lockdown we know many young athletes are due to achieve trials over the next short while.
Management is going to be key to ensure you succeed, and as always, feel free to follow up with us at any time.

To all the Dad's out there and those in a fatherly role, Happy Day to you. May your day be filled with joy, even if for some not physically able to be with family at the present time.

Finding our way, running a small business in the ever-changing environment of the pandemic.

We have been a little MIA this lockdown, taking some much needed time to recharge ourselves after suffering the immense weight these circuit breaker lockdowns and extensions take on us.

We worry about all people, their physical, emotional and mental health. The tolls this pandemic will have on all people in time yet to come is of great concern.

We all need to look out for each other, now more than ever. Check on your friends, your colleagues, your family and those in small businesses you support outside of the pandemic and lockdowns, because God only knows everyone around you needs support right now.

Be kind, not only to others but to yourselves.
The Dynamic Team are thinking of you all, and as always, we cannot wait to see you back in the clinic soon.

xoxo
