Our rooms will be closed from the 22nd of December 2023 and will reopen on Tuesday the 9th of January, 2024.

If you have an orthodontic emergency over the break you can go to our website www.amandalawrence.com.au Click on the Urgent Orthodontic Care Tab for written instructions or click the play button in the Resources Tab for instructional videos to assist you in fixing common issues and making yourself more comfortable.

If you require further assistance, an emergency only text service will be available for our patients only who are experiencing pain with their appliances. Please call our practice number for how to contact this service. This service can not receive phone calls and can not respond to any other enquiries.

If you are running low on elastics please contact our rooms prior to our closure so that we can organize to get some to you.

We can now take OPG and Lateral Cephalogram Xrays in our practice. These xrays can now be taken during appointments. Our team can explain more at your appointment.

If you have an issue with your orthodontic appliances over the break you can :

* Refer to your pamphlets about your appliances that you were provided with at the time your treatment started

* Go to our website www.amandalawrence.com.au By clicking on the Urgent Orthodontic Care or Resources tabs. you will find useful information, quick fixes and instructional videos to assist you.

* If you require further assistance we have an Emergency Text Service available for our patients who are in pain or discomfort. Please text the patients name and the issue to 0460 005 001 and our emergency contact will respond.

Please note that the TEXT service will be unable to respond to any other queries.

We are Renovating!
Big changes will be happening around us at Amanda Lawrence Orthodontics whilst the practice continues to operate as normal.
Our entry has changed back to the side door facing Deakin St North. We'll look forward to seeing you soon.

The recent restrictions in Victoria have meant that we can make some changes in the way we operate at Amanda Lawrence Orthodontics. The safety of our patients and staff is very important to us, as is our goal to keep our practice open for our patients. Because of this our staff will be taking extra precautions to keep everyone safe. We ask patients and their families to assist us in doing so by following the procedures from Saturday the 26th of February, 2022;

* Each patient can bring one support person to their appointment, this can be a parent, carer or partner.

* Masks will still be required to be worn within the practice.

* Scanning of a QR code to answer screening questions will still be required for all patients and visitors to the practice prior to entry.

* In the waiting room we will still be maintaining 1.5m spacing between different household groups.

2021 is coming to an end. Amanda Lawrence Orthodontics will be closed for the festive season from Thursday the 23rd of December 2021 and will reopen on Tuesday the 11th of January 2022.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY APPLIANCES OVER THE BREAK?
An emergency text service will be available only for our patients who are experiencing pain or discomfort from appliances over this closure. Please text 0460 005 001 with the patients name and a description of the issue. Please note this is an EMERGENCY ONLY TEXT service it will not be able to receive telephone calls and will not be able to respond to other enquiries. Don't forget our website has heaps of resources and videos that can show you how to resolve issues with your appliances. Just go to the resource centre tab and click on the video library. The notes we gave you when we fitted the appliance will also help

WHAT HAPPENS IF I RUN OUT OF MY ELASTICS?
Our practice will be closed so please check your elastics now. If you need some more call our rooms as soon as possible on 9521 6500. We can then organise to get some out to you before we close.

With the extension of lockdown 6 we will continue to only be permitted to see patients who meet specific and limited criteria.

IF YOUR APPOINTMENT IS CANCELLED DUE TO LOCKDOWN
We will contact you to reschedule this appointment once we are able to open as normal. We will reschedule appointments in order of cancellation, but we can not do this until we have an opening date. As we will have to organise our schedules and contact many people , please be patient if we don't get to you straight away, we will call you.

IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE WITH YOUR APPLIANCES OR A CONCERN ABOUT YOUR TREATMENT
Our website is a very valuable resource, we have added many videos to assist people with issues they may be having, from loose wires to general cleaning and many more. If you still require assistance please email us at [email protected] with photos and an explanation of the issue and we will be able to assist.

Great News - With the Lockdown ending tonight Amanda Lawrence Orthodontics will be reopening tomorrow. If your appointment was cancelled we will be contacting you soon to reschedule. For further information on how we do this please refer to our previous post.

Following the announcement today that restrictions are being lifted, we are very happy to be able to welcome our patients and staff back to the practice from Friday.
RESCHEDULING OF CANCELLED APPOINTMENTS
We will be calling patients to reschedule appointments that were cancelled due to the lockdown. We will be prioritising appointments for patients who are in treatment. Appointments will be rescheduled in order of cancellation. Please be patient, the phones will be busy and there is a lot of catching up to do but we will contact you.
PROCEDURES FOR APPOINTMENTS
our procedures will remain the same as they were before the lockdown, in order to meet the government requirements that enable us to keep our practice open and safe for our patients.
* To meet the amount of people allowed per square meter rule only patients will be able to attend appointments, very limited exceptions apply as these need to be scheduled accordingly. Parents can "virtually" attend appointments by the patient calling the parent for the appointment and putting the call on speaker. Notes are provided to parents after some appontment types, there is information provided on our website in the form of videos etc.
* All visitors to the practice must check in using the QR code and answer the associated screening questions.
* Masks must be worn inside the practice

PRACTICE CLOSED DUE TO LOCKDOWN

HOW DO THE RESTRICTIONS AFFECT THE PRACTICE
Amanda Lawrence Orthodontics will close tonight under the Government enforced lockdown.

APPOINTMENTS AND ADMINISTRATION
All appointments during the lockdown period are cancelled.
We will contact patients to reschedule appointments by order of cancellation once we are permitted to return and reopen.
Our Practice will be closed and our telephones will not be manned so please call when we return.

EMERGENCIES
Under the circuit breaker restrictions orthodontists are only permitted to perform procedures in the management of patients with urgent needs:
* facial swelling
* intra oral swelling
* facial trauma
* dental trauma
* significant/constant/ uncontrollable pain
WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH MY APPLIANCES
1) refer to the information and appliance instructions we provided you with at the time we delivered your appliance/s
2) our website has a lot of information that we have added to over the previous lockdowns. There are 2 tabs in particular that will help with emergencies or issues;
The Urgent Orthodontic Care tab - for information on how to fix issues by appliance type.
The Resources Tab - the play button which opens up heaps of videos that will show you how to fix common problems.
