Happy Birthday Alice ๐ซ๐ฉท
"This year Giant monopoly will be raising funds for Women for Women international.
During 1992-1995, an estimated 50,000 Bosnian women were subjected to r**e as a weapon of war. Thousands more witnessed the killing of loved ones and destruction of their homes, and were left struggling to provide and care for their families whilst dealing with severe trauma.
Survivors said that they felt invisible, that the world had forgotten about them, that no-one cared.
After hearing these womenโs stories, Zainab Salbi, an Iraqi-American humanitarian, entrepreneur and author, founded Women for Women International at the age of 23.
Since 1993 553,437 women survivors of war reached, 17 conflict-affected countries and
893,000 exchanged letters between participants and supporters.
Join us in raising funds for such an amazing charity

This year we will be raising funds to support Women for Women international, Since 1993, Women for Women International has invested in the power of over 500,000 women who are forgotten โ the women survivors of war and conflict โ to learn the skills they need to rebuild their families and communities.

Whitehorse Rotaract is incredibly proud to announce that our very own Alice Terrill has won the Rotaractor of the Year award at this year's Rotaract Australia Awards !!! ๐ฉท๐ฅณ๐คฉ
Alice has been vital to the growth and success of the club. As Co-President for two years, and as Co-DRR for one, she has always given Rotaract her all, and ensured that our members are cared for, appreciated, and able to be the best versions of themselves. ๐ซ๐ซ
Not only is Alice a powerhouse of Rotaract, however. She also manages to balance her PhD focusing on antibiotic resistance, acting as President of the Box Hill Ballet Association, and STILL finding time to assist or run events like NYSF and RYLA. What an inspiration!! ๐คฉ๐
Her brilliant contribution to our club has given us so many great new opportunities to grow and expand our love for volunteering.
On behalf of the club, we would love to thank Alice for her contributions to Whitehorse Rotaract and canโt wait to see what the future has in store for her.
Below you'll find some lovely photos of Alice throughout her Rotaract journey ๐ฉท๐ฉท
Happy Birthday Keishan ๐ซ๐ฉท
Last Sunday Whitehorse Rotaract hosted a stall at the annual Manningham Family Festival at Finns! ๐ก๐ช
We used the time to promote Rotaract, our events, and our culture to the festival attendees, and as an opportunity to inspire any potential Rotaractors to join us at a meeting or any of our upcoming events! ๐ฉ๐ฒ๐ถ
It was a fantastic opportunity to meet so many families and connect with like-minded individuals.
A very warm thank you to Rotary Manningham City for reaching out and offering us a stall. We wouldn't have been able to do this without them ๐ซ๐ฉต
Happy Birthday Sarah! ๐
Recently Whitehorse Rotaract alongside Monash Rotaract and Casey-Cardinia Rotaract attended the President-Elect Training in Traralgon for the upcoming Rotaract year!
A great deal of informative and interesting topics were covered, assisting our upcoming young leaders to be the best versions of themselves possible! ๐ฉโ๐ผ๐จโ๐ผ๐ฅ
We were able to meet our wonderful Rotary and Rotaract counterparts from around Eastern Melbourne, all the way to Gippsland.
And of course, it wouldn't be a Rotaract outing without pizza or games ๐๐ฎ๐ณ
Thank you to our District Governor Elect Colin Byron and District Governor Ian Ballantine for the fantastic opportunity!
On Wednesday, Whitehorse had its last official meeting of 2023! We had a blast dressing up in our pyjamas and going over the agenda one last time before our big break. ๐ชฉ๐ฅณ๐
Many of our members attended and we even had some guests from RYLA and the Rotary Club of Monash! ๐ซถ๐๏ธ
Along with all the important information we went through, both Alice Terrill and Matthew Gibney received the Caroline Chisholm award! A massive achievement for both of them! ๐ฅ๐๐
Thanks for such a wonderful year everyone and we hope to see you all again at our first meeting of 2024! ๐๐
Last Wednesday, two of our members, Tahlia Vosnakis and Liam Howard, travelled to St Leonardโs College in Brighton to participate in the latest For a MEAL packing day! ๐๐ฆ
Alongside them and the already well known and loved FORaMEAL team, we were honored to collaborate with members from the Rotary Club Of Brighton and their Interact Club at St Leonardโs! ๐
Collectively, we were able to make a positive impact by packing over 2000 disaster relief meals for those in need across the world. ๐โ๏ธ๐ข
We canโt wait for our next packing day! And if you canโt too, make sure to stay updated by joining our new Facebook group โThe Rotaract Club of Whitehorse Volunteering & Newsโ where we plan to keep you updated on all of our upcoming volunteering opportunities! ๐๏ธ๐ฐ
