We had a fantastic turnout at our Open Streets event last Friday morning to wrap up our time in Darwin! It was wonderful to see the community come together for such an exciting start to the day. Hector the Cat was a big hit, promoting road safety amongst our young active travellers.
This event also marked the perfect launch of our new ActiveMaps program with the school. We're thrilled to see students and families embracing active travel so enthusiastically!
A huge thank you to City of Darwin, Nightcliff Primary School and all those that participated and made the morning such a success. Letβs keep the momentum going!

We're super excited to have launched our first of two Active Paths and Open Streets days in Darwin today at Karama Primary School!
After following designated routes into school by bike, scooter, or on foot, more fun was had outside the school gates on Livistona Road, where the students enjoyed being able to play, ride, and be active without having to worry about traffic.

A big thank you to Middle Park Primary School and City Of Port Phillip council for making our Open Streets trials a huge success! π Your support and collaboration have been invaluable.
During these trials, students enjoyed using Neville Street to socialise, play, and ride, benefiting from Open Streets as a safe and fun environment free from traffic concerns. We hope parents have also appreciated seeing this space open for their children!

From energizing cycling sessions to grounding yoga practices, nurturing Grow Club workshops, and unforgettable talks by Paralympian Emily Petricola, the day was a massive success. We hope the students enjoyed it as much as we did!

Our sessions focused on bike safety, checks, building confidence and skills such as turning and signalling. We had an amazing time and can't wait to hear about the students putting their new skills into practice! π
