We were extremely saddened as we learned of the passing of one of the most gifted and lovely Irish musicians in Australia Paddy Fitzgerald. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.

Paddy was a gifted musician and a proud family man. We had the absolute pleasure of having paddy and the Fitzgeralds Playing at our Melbourne Rose Ball. And when they played a great night was guaranteed! We fondly remember the wonderful events where Paddy would be in his element playing alongside his four sons Jimmy, Patrick, Brendan & Martin.

The Melbourne Rose Committee and our alumni of Roses would like to offer our deepest condolences to Paddy’s Wife Eileen,his sons Jimmy, Patrick, Brendan & Martin, his daughters Mary Ann & Eileen his extended family, his wide circle of friends and the wider Irish Community in Australia.

What a great day getting to meet during his recent tour of Australia.

We visited Birr Castle and enjoyed a boat trip on the River Shannon from Banaghter. We also stopped off at Newgrange and Emerald Park.
