Changeover 2024 is the last meeting and a fabulous year for "Rotary Club of Glen Waverley" serving the community at large for 52 years given the mergers of RC Wheelers Hill 2023 & RC Monash 2024 members will continue to serve with new name "Rotary Club of Monash Glen Waverley"
Outgoing President Chris George thanked the musical group, the “Hua-monicas” three lovely young girls who were providing wonderful entertainment for our enjoyment and welcomed our visitors, District Governor Ian Ballantine, AG Helen Nordrum, Ian Bell, DG Nominee Peter Behm (D9815), Honorary Members: Sue Mair, Glenda Norton, Alfred Sung and Rotarian partners attending the changeover night.
Foundation Chair, Louis Jahshan, proposed the toast and thanked outgoing President Chris and the Board members for the hard work they have put in during the year.
A number of Paul Harris Fellow recognition's presented by District Governor Ian Ballantine for particular contributions to the club and community include Rajeswar Susarla (Raj), Roger Lough, Michele Oscar, Tony Hills , Noel Taylor, Ray Walker
In addition, Certificates of Appreciation were presented by Assistant Governor, Helen Nordrum to Chris Cameron, Andrew Goddard , and Ralph Holmes Holmes and Kim De Waas.
Retiring President of RC Monash, Sandra Pyke who gave a run down on the activities at the Rotary Club of Monash during the past year.
President Chris then handed over Presidential collar to incoming President Don Kerley
Don aims to make our new club ‘simply irresistible’, a vibrant club with new club models, achieve more by doing less, and look for suitable partners we can work with, and lots of fun and fellowship. He introduced the new Board and presented a Past President badge to Chris George. Not only that, he also presented Chris a Paul Harris fellowship to recognize the great job he has done as President.

Roger Lough introduced Natalie and thanked her for the incredible
support that she has given us in allocating Sausage Sizzles through the past year. We have been lucky to be able to conduct lots of fund raising through this facility. Roger presented Natalie with a Paul Harris Award in appreciation for her (and Bunnings) support of our club.
Les Walker then introduced David, and thanked him for the great support he has been with the book sales. He is there every time, doing lots of heavy lifting, loading books and driving. I think the description “Savior” was in there somewhere. We really appreciate his assistance, and Les presented David with a Paul Harris Award as well.

Tray (Attrayoo), the supervising Teacher at Wellington Secondary College, along with Connie
(RCGW) helped organise this great project with the Student Representative Council of the School.
It was called the “Pasta Project: Its aim was to support needy families in the Monash area. It was all about
getting the children to recognise people less fortunate, and to see what they could do about it.
The students had a “Free Dress Day” and were asked to bring a bag of pasta or donate a gold coin.
It culminated in 500 packets of pasta, delivered to Monash Oakleigh Community Information Service today.
Pictures include – all the pasta picked up from the school, Tray, Chris, Sue and Connie with all the pasta.

These plant communities are endemic to the City of Monash and revegetating them is crucial to combatting habitat loss and improving biodiversity.
