CNS fatigue …after the Mildura 10km PB and my central nervous system was fatigued, I was cooked. Ofcourse working a lot in that time also. In my recovery post , no surprise I got sick 🤧
3 weeks of resting I slowly got my energy back to work and training, listening to my body and gradually building up some strength and conditioning. It’s the best feeling, feeling well after being unwell. But it’s also so important to listen to the body. No point pushing it to then go 5 steps backwards.
This was also the reason I didn’t compete in the today. I just couldn’t give it my best 💯
It was nice to be out in the sun today moving my legs 🏃
There is so many bugs going around. Look after yourself and your body ❤️

Whether it’s your first race or your 10th here are some training tips I follow. 5km, 10km, 21km, 42km…. All distances.
✅ follow a training plan, personalised to you
✅ good footwear, have these fitted for you
✅ strength training is a must
✅ adequate nutrition, get advice from a dietican
✅ recovery, sleep, massage

I have competed in MANY marathons, half marathons, 10km, CrossFit comps, netball over the years. But this was a little different. Like doing your first half marathon there is so much that is learned by just giving it a go!

Finish line feels at the Mildura 10km in the weekend. I am surprised and stoked with my PB of 46mins. Training, resting, recovery, nutrition…. It pays off. Thanks to my awesome coach for believing in me and always providing support even when I doubt myself a little 😜

This year, I set a couple of different running goals compared to 2023 where I ran the all 42km!
I decided to work on my speed in 2024🏃♀️
I will be running the Mildura 10km early June, and joining some of my friends and clients who are racing also!
Then I take on which I am super pumped for!
I have always been outcome focused and goal driven when it comes to my athletic life 💪🏾 as I approach my 40s this year I’m excited to see what I can achieve 💫
Better than I thought…. I went into this run thinking “I don’t know if I can do this, can I hit the speed targets?”.
I got out there and got it done ☀️ it turned out wayyyy better than I thought ✨
Have a coach who can see beyond what you can see yourself, who looks out for you and guides you on paces they know you can accomplish 🏃 even if you don’t believe yourself, trust them. Thanks 😊
