Warrandyte Kindergarten, situated in the heart of Warrandyte, is a friendly, community-based preschoo
The bike track at Warrandyte Kinder has been refurbished with a premium, thick, and spongy surface. New markings will provide an inviting space for children to ride and run with friends next week.
Wishing everyone a safe holiday break!
Our kindergarten groups had a fantastic time celebrating Footy and Sports Day this week, enjoying hot food. The three-year-old children had the thrill of running through a banner, mimicking the start of an AFL game, while the four-year-old children practiced their financial skills by purchasing hot food with Australian dollars before concluding the session with sports activities on the oval.
The four-year-old students have been engaging in our pilot 'Nature Play Excursions' initiative, which will be formally integrated into our kindergarten curriculum in 2025.
The children's interactions with natural elements, including trees, plants, mud, and water, have fostered curiosity, creativity, and group problem-solving skills.
We know that life can be busy and we are delighted that we can offer the flexibility of extended care both casually and term by term enrolment for your child. If you are a current family or interested in attending next year and would like to know more, please feel to give us a buzz or drop us a note
This week we celebrated Fathers and Special Persons with an evening event. The 4 year-olds hosted a campfire and nature scavenger hunt with torches. The highlight was obviously toasting marshmallows on the fire.
We have certainly found a new tradition…campfire night! It was a hit and deliciously yummy.
The children are learning about fire safety during their sessions so this was a perfect experience to start off the discussions.
This week we have been preparing the 4 year olds for our Nature Play Excursions which start next week. We started by discussing Australian birds, what type of birds we have seen and how we can help take care of them. We also spoke about sustainability and how we could use scraps to make something. The children made bird feeders using left over orange peels.
We spoke about a birds habitat and what it needs to survive. The children made their own habitats using shoe boxes and then made their own air dry clay bird. Great job 4s!
At Warrandyte Kinder we are excited to announce the introduction of a new Nature Play program in 2025.
An exciting week ahead for our kinder kids as we celebrate book week 📕 🐛
What a magical week for the 4 year olds. We held our very own Kinder Olympics!
The children spent last week preparing by designing and making their own t-shirts, painting battens, practicing different sports and making a team banner.
Our main focus for the Olympic event was to show sportsmanship, have a go and support everyone’s efforts. We were so proud of the children.
It was an event enjoyed by staff, children and families.

This week we participated in National Pyjama Day at Warrandyte Kindergarten! Raising funds for The Pyjama Foundation, a charity that provides support and mentoring for foster children to help them achieve higher standards in education.
We’re not sure who enjoyed the day more… the kids or the teachers 😉
And we’re back! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break and can’t wait to see all our kinder friends ⭐️
Did you know at Warrandyte Kinder we have a kitchen garden? And this season our Apple 🍏 tree has been busy!! Today the children in our 4 year old program had a wonderful session picking the apples, learning about the different types of apples and finding out the differences between home grown and store bought apples.
A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped make our part in the Warrandyte Festival a success! The kids, parents and teachers all had a wonderful day! A special shout out to Kwill Construction for the use of their truck.
Our volunteers are all ready for a big day ahead at the Warrandyte Festival! The 4 year old’s are in the parade at 10am, see you there!
Hi lovely community,
We are wondering if there might be any wonderful people out there who could lend us 10 or so hay bales for the kinder kids to sit on this weekend at the Warrandyte Festival? We would need them Friday to Saturday and could return Saturday arvo.
Thank you ☺️
