On this day for World Social Justice, the community recommits itself to the principles of Social Justice and celebrates all the good that has been done in order to uphold the dignity and equality for all.
Last Friday both our junior and senior Be More members participated in a retreat where we engaged in discussion and planning of action to tackle the social issues most relevant to young people today.
The day was rich in discussion and issues such as Identity, racial inequality and environmentalism were explored through our Head/hearts/hands model.
These are our student leaders for 2022 and onwards, advocating for the dignity of all beings.
All life is precious and valuable.
Today we marked the end of our toy drive and are enormously grateful for the generosity shown by our community for this enormous haul.
We aim to give and preserve the dignity of every human in our path and reach out with peace and joy as god loves a cheerful giver.
As the holidays swiftly approach, it is important to stop and reflect on all that we have and are grateful. It is also just as important to reflect on those that do not have, so Be More is running a toy drive for the children of the St Vinnies community.
We are looking for our generous community to offer such items on the list and to ensure that the dignity of those we aim to support is upheld by only donating new items.
Tubs have been placed in each DRC homeroom as well as the Staffroom.
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. Do not say to your neighbor, "Come back tomorrow and Iβll give it to you"βwhen you already have it with you. β Proverbs 3:27-28
SMC Be More students worked hard through lunch to write 100 Christmas cards for our brothers and sisters in the St Vinnies community. We do not forget those in need, especially during times where we reflect on all we have.
