💜 MEET OUR PRECIOUS GIRL SMOKEY 💜

Smokey is a very gentle and loving one year young lady. She loves a quiet house where her soft meows are the loudest thing in the room when she is feeling chatty (especially around dinner time!). Her favourite activity is chasing a comfy spot to lay down and watch the world go by, preferably in the sunshine 🌞

🏡 Smokey would do well in any home, with any other animals, provided that the household is calm and respectful of her personal space. She is a very relaxed girl (she even gets compliments from the vet how laid back she is!). She has spent time with other cats and some calm dogs.

🩺 Smokey is microchipped, sterilised and has had a full course of vaccinations which is all included in her adoption fee of $230

💜 MEET TIBBY - GOOD WITH YOUNG CHILDREN 💜

Tibby has the cutest white patch at the end of her tail which makes it look like she’s dipped it in paint!!

Tibby is small but mighty. She moved in with her foster carer only 3 days after being trapped and has taken to inside life instantly. Tibby likes to observe the world and once she’s comfortable with you she turns on an impressive purr.

Tibby loves her wet meat and is known to meow for more as soon as she finishes a pouch. She accepts cuddles from her 4 year old house mate and has adapted to the resident house cats well, even chasing the bigger cats around.

🏡 A home with cats and young children would suit Tibby. She is untested with dogs but would be ok with a calm, older dog

❌ URGENT FUNDS AND FOSTER CARER NEEDED!! ❌

Aurelio is currently doing a Frill Neck Lizard impression!

He is sporting this lovely head piece to stop him from chewing out his urinary catheter which is stopping his bladder from blocking.
Earlier in the week we posted for a new foster carer for him as his current one has dogs and he isn’t a fan of them which has lead to these urinary issues he now has.

So far Aurelio’s vet bill is at $5.5k as he had to have an urgent surgery to remove A LOT of bladder stones!
We are hoping that he will be able to be discharged tomorrow and his account will need to be paid so he can go and he needs somewhere to go too!

Aurelio is such is a sweet boy who loves children and is fine with other cats. He really doesn’t like dogs though.

Oreo is a 1 year old boy who is an all rounder. He will playfully wrestle with his wiggly fish before wanting to curl up with his humans for a rest. He may be a little shy initially but will quickly grow in confidence and show his full love and affection. Oreo will come up on the sofa for snuggles, and make you smile with his loud roaring purr .

Oreo has recently decided he loves to watch cat tv and enjoys games on the i-pad too!

💜 AURELIO - OUR GOLDEN BOY WHO NEEDS A FOSTER TO ADOPT HOME 💜

Our handsome 4 year old boy is looking for a calm forever home. Aurelio is at his happiest when he is snuggling with humans big or small and is all round family cat with lots of love to give.

Aurelio is finding his current foster home with lots of other cats who have recently been trapped and a young puppy very stressful. The vet believes this environment has contributed to him being unwell with bladder stones. Poor Aurelio is having surgery this evening to remove them and is expected to make a full recovery.

Aurelio has previously been homed by us but was returned six months ago due to his owners being unable to find a home that accepted pets. All in all this gorgeous boy deserves his forever home and we'd prefer not to move him to another foster carer and then onto another home causing him yet more stress.

So we are seeking a special home who will foster him whilst he is recovering (with 9 Lives paying all medical costs) with the intention of adopting him in 6 months time.

🏡 Aurelio's ideal home would be with a cat companion or two, and no dogs. He is very comfortable being around young children and if you had a cat enclosure or enclosed garden he would be in his element

🩺 Microchipped, sterilised and will be vaccinated when he is fully recovered from his surgery. 9 Lives are paying all medical costs for this boy

We have been absolutely slammed with cat welfare cases lately, with Elrose, pictured, being one of them.
Her tail was so broken it needed amputation!

Mums and kittens have started coming in already!

We have been saving cats on death row from the pound who have also had health issues to treat!

As you can see, our bank accounts have been drained dry and we haven’t even covered half of the vet fees accumulated to treat these sweet kitties 😿

Don’t even get us started on how much it’s costing to feed these hungry meows!

Misty is an absolutely stunning 1 year old girl with unique lighter stripes on her gorgeous black fur. A real little black panther 🐈‍⬛

Misty is a little bouncing ball who is naturally inquisitive and wants to check everything out and not be left out for a moment. She can be hesitant to come up for pats but once you start patting her, she starts purring her head off and wanting more and more.

Misty was born at one of the colonies we manage (an industrial area where there are lots of cats) and came into our care when she was only ten weeks old. She has left the street life behind her and is now being pampered in her foster home.

🍼 Hetty's babies have arrived!!🍼

We have three new tiny additions to the 9 Lives family as Hetty gave birth yesterday with the first kitten arriving at a very civilised time of 6.25pm, and the last at 7:27pm just in time for a spot of chicken dinner!!

We have two black and white and one black kitten who are all nursing and healthy 🥰

Whilst Hetty hasn't had the best start to life (having been out on the streets and then pregnant at a very young age) her life is now changed and her babies will only know warmth, a full tummy and love. Hetty is already proving she is a fantastic mum.

Thank you to the people who fed her and brough her into our care 💜💜

This regal 5 year old boy is a pedigree Bengal who came to 9 Lives as his owner had to go into care.

Like all Bengals, Bobby is a very chatty and outgoing boy who likes to be the centre of attention. As such Bobby would be best with a cat friend to play with during the day.

Bobby is a sweet boy and very responsive to attention. He loves to snuggle up in bed or share the couch with his human.

Sweet Kurochan is the kitty we posted last week that had to go to emergency due to having seizures.
We are pleased to report that she has been seizure free for 10 days thanks to her new medication 😻
And she eats it so well in her food!

Now we need a foster carer for Kuro by this Wednesday as her temporary care is no longer available after this.

Kurochan is fine with other cats, untested with dogs and great with kids (as long as they don’t pick her up). She would suit kids 8 years and up.
Kuro is litter trained and refuses to sleep in a cat bed because she would rather sleep on human beds!
She is very affectionate (can get carried away with a love bite or two) and would love nothing more than to have people with her as much as possible. She is fine home alone as well but is a very social girl.

Kuro has medication in her food twice a day and will need a dental soon.

We provide everything for her care except kitty litter.

On August 8th the Feline Interest Group at Murdoch University held a Cat Yoga event to celebrate International Cat Day and raise money for 9 Lives Cat Rescue 😻

Our kitties enjoyed interacting with the humans doing strange movements and feeding them treats!

$406.72 was raised for our foster kitties and we would like to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to the Feline Interest Group for inviting us to participate in this wonderful event 💜

There are many suitable pet cats in shelters and homing centres waiting for someone to welcome them into their home. However, a cat without a traditional home doesn’t always mean an unhappy cat. Some cats are less suited and tolerant than others to living indoors and with humans.

We use the term ‘unowned cats’ to describe the many different lifestyles of cats because not all cats are made the same. All these cats need different types of help based on an understanding of the range of these lifestyles. Despite it being Black Cat Appreciation Day yesterday, we feel we should cherish black cats every day 🐈‍⬛ Sadly, our black kittens are often overlooked despite being majestic and loving . . .

Meet Jennifer - our 6 month old medium longhair black girl. She has a beautiful long tail with a grey flush, amber eyes and adorable fluffy ear tuffs

She is a gentle girl who loves to be in the company of other cats and humans and is a real snuggler

🐈‍⬛🏡 She is shy around small children, so she would suit a household with older children. She is a little skittish around dogs, but she will adapt if introduced slowly.

Last weekend we ran our first ever MEAT FREE sausage sizzle at BUNNINGS CLAREMONT 😻

We weren’t sure how it was going to go as there is always resistance to new things especially when it comes to cruelty free products.

We are pleased to report that we raised $1552.98 😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻

We want to thank Vegan Australia for their $500 grant to buy the meat free sausages and Bunnings Claremont for allowing us to run a vegan BBQ as well as providing the rolls and onions!
Thank you also to those who gave it a go and tried meat free sausages for the first time!

And the biggest thank you goes to the Vegan Community of Perth for coming down and supporting the kitties and our cruelty free event 🐈‍⬛🐾💜
