Empoweraid is a training organisation providing pathways to employment for vulnerable women Our approach is based around three major areas:
1.
HOW WE DO IT
We take appropriately trained women from around Australia to deliver training in hairdressing and basic Beauty techniques ( using a wholistic approach) to women who are disadvantage/locked in poverty. We deliver an international standard of training
2. We intentionally build relationships with students to help them realise their God given potential in life.
3. We deliver personal development skills
How do we politely say “our most senior trainers”??? 😄😆
Love these women, thank you for all the serving you do to make the world a better place! ❤🥰
Ok, so who likes hair & beauty chemistry? It’s no surprise that these students do!
Providing opportunities to women who didn’t have any.. what an amazing thing we get to do!
Happy birthday to Jennifer Spa Parlour in Bangladesh! Well done for smashing out 6 years.
We admire your courage as you lead through change!
After spending some quality time time with this student group, our trainers reflect:
“I can only say that their ability to be transfixed on the skills set being demonstrated is phenomenal!“
What a privilege to provide training to those who genuinely want to learn!
"Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all ." International Women's Day 2024
We set up training colleges because training and equipping local leaders is what changes communities!
Are you someone who hates the injustice of poverty in this world but doesn‘t quite know where to begin to change things? We’re seeing lives changed and women empowered, it’s seriously amazing!
We’d love to have a chat if you’re curious about what we do!
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a joy filled 2024
We establish training colleges in impoverished communities, to bring avenues for women who have no other options.
EmpowerAid is passionate about providing places for women in poverty to learn a skill that gives them empowerment, and choice.
Without your donations, EmpowerAid could not fund our training colleges, and women would not be receiving this life changing education. Thank you for all those that are giving!
Thank you to all who have donated to EmpowerAid this year!
Your generosity has meant we’ve seen this beautiful group of women receive a compete training package - education that allows them to start their own business and now they can earn an income where before they couldn’t! Seriously amazing!
EmpowerAid creates learning environments where women who had extremely limited choices can graduate with a complete set of skills and start their own business!
Thanks to ‘master educator’ Tracey Laing and support worker ‘Mama Sue’!
Another round of units has been skilfully executed in Timor Leste thanks to your generosity and hard work!
Words cannot adequately express our appreciation for the hours of work you put in, all that you give, however the cheeky faces of the girls certainly speak volumes!!

New training block in Dili underway!
Jennifer Spa Parlour in Mymensingh, Bangladesh.
This Parlour (Hair and Beauty Salon) is all about economic empowerment of women. It provides employment and finances our training college, as well as paying our local teachers.
Because when you’re learning to cut hair, finishing your first haircut feels this amazing!
What does it take to go from being a person with no education, to being a person running a training college?
It takes practical education, certainly. It also takes a lot of personal development and support. Courage, resilience, persistence, more courage, and plenty of opportunity.
We LOVE providing these things to women who have no other choices, and boy do they shine.
We like to survey our past students, to make sure our training programs are effective long term. We’ve estimated that for every student we’ve trained, at least 7 lives are positively affected! This looks like kids being able to attend school, family members fed etc. We’re so pleased for our students to be having this impact on their families and communities!
Did you know you can sponsor a student in the developing world to learn a skill that will enable them to break out poverty?
Details on our website!
Training in action!
Looks like Tracey has some enthusiastic students!
Brain break during online class!
Big excitement levels for the next block of online training in Timor Leste.
Some of our Australian volunteers travel to our projects only once, others return again and again. "I love this country!" says Deb, whose contribution has been invaluable and changed the lives of many. Thank you Deb!
Some of our boarding students having lunch together. We love offering boarding as an option to allow more ladies to access training.
When we set up a training college, we start by training local ladies with a vocation (often hairdressing and beauty, for example). Once these women have completed their studies, we then train some of them to teach the next round of students, and within a few years, we have local leaders running the courses!
We love visiting alumni from our colleges. Students come to us for an education, but when they've finished we like to keep in touch, and follow their progress.
We don’t just churn out numbers for the sake of it, we know and love each student!
