I am a yoga teacher specialising in pregnancy, postnatal and children’s yoga with a focus on nurtu
I have been practicing yoga since 1999 and teaching yoga since 2016. I am qualified and experienced in teaching a wide range of yoga styles and abilities including;
Vinyasa/Hatha, yin, Restorative, prenatal, postnatal, yoga for birthing, toddlers, children's, teens, seniors, chair yoga, corporate classes and even goat yoga! Contact me to discuss your needs and I may be able to adapt a class or event to suit you.
After a wonderful 7.5years, the time has come to say goodbye to Sun Moon Yoga. This has been my home studio where I have taught since my mentor Kelly Arnold, welcomed me as one of her first teachers in her new studio just up the road from my house. I was freshly qualified and eager to share my knowledge but my students have taught me so much more over the years.
My own practice has changed immensely as I have taught Prenatal, Birthing workshops, post natal, Toddlers, Children, adults, Vinyasa, yin, and restorative yoga at Sun Moon. I have taught continuously since then and loved every minute of it with the wonderful and warm Sun Moon community that Kelly has created.
Saying goodbye has been sad but I wish Kelly all the best on her ventures East and look forward to the new chapter that awaits my yoga journey.
For now, I am taking a much needed break from teaching to rest and reconnect with my own practice. For all my lovely and dedicated students, I hope to see you in a class nearby sometime and please follow this page to be notified when I start teaching again soon.
❤️ I love this post. ❤️ It sums up so many great points. A lot of people tell me they’re “not flexible enough to do yoga” but you don’t have to be.
In time, the practice changes your body but it also changes you and the way you see the world.
Wahoo! I am now taking Vinyasa 9am-10am every other Saturday at Sun Moon.
This Saturday we will zoom in on the sun salutations; focusing on form, alignment and mindfulness with this powerful sequence. When done with awareness, these postures can strengthen and prepare the body for so many more yoga poses and deepen your practice.
Join me by booking your spot at http://www.sunmoonyogawellness.com/online-timetable

This is brilliant! It speaks directly to why even though coming to my mat is a daily struggle, I continue to find so much solace in my yoga practice. 💕💕💕
GOD, THIS IS BEAUTIFUL! TAKE THE TIME TO READ IT ❤️
As someone who writes often, I naturally appreciate epic writing when I see it. This morning, I came across this written piece of art and it moved me deeply, so I had to share it with all of you! Not only are these words true theatre, they also act as sound advice ❤️
my brain and
heart divorced
a decade ago
over who was
to blame about
how big of a mess
I have become
eventually,
they couldn't be
in the same room
with each other
now my head and heart
share custody of me
I stay with my brain
during the week
and my heart
gets me on weekends
they never speak to one another
- instead, they give me
the same note to pass
to each other every week
and their notes they
send to one another always
says the same thing:
"This is all your fault"
on Sundays
my heart complains
about how my
head has let me down
in the past
and on Wednesday
my head lists all
of the times my
heart has screwed
things up for me
in the future
they blame each
other for the
state of my life
there's been a lot
of yelling - and crying
so,
lately, I've been
spending a lot of
time with my gut
who serves as my
unofficial therapist
most nights, I sneak out of the
window in my ribcage
and slide down my spine
and collapse on my
gut's plush leather chair
that's always open for me
~ and I just sit sit sit sit
until the sun comes up
last evening,
my gut asked me
if I was having a hard
time being caught
between my heart
and my head
I nodded
I said I didn't know
if I could live with
either of them anymore
"my heart is always sad about
something that happened yesterday
while my head is always worried
about something that may happen tomorrow,"
I lamented
my gut squeezed my hand
"I just can't live with
my mistakes of the past
or my anxiety about the future,"
I sighed
my gut smiled and said:
"in that case,
you should
go stay with your
lungs for a while,"
I was confused
- the look on my face gave it away
"if you are exhausted about
your heart's obsession with
the fixed past and your mind's focus
on the uncertain future
your lungs are the perfect place for you
there is no yesterday in your lungs
there is no tomorrow there either
there is only now
there is only inhale
there is only exhale
there is only this moment
there is only breath
and in that breath
you can rest while your
heart and head work
their relationship out."
this morning,
while my brain
was busy reading
tea leaves
and while my
heart was staring
at old photographs
I packed a little
bag and walked
to the door of
my lungs
before I could even knock
she opened the door
with a smile and as
a gust of air embraced me
she said
"what took you so long?"

Happy international yoga day! This is a day declared in the UN 6 years ago to help promote the gift of yoga from India to the world to promote wellness, health and growth.
I wanted to share an inspiring image for this years theme “yoga for wellness”. The idea is that yoga can help everyone stay well in this extended Covid era.
But all I could find was images of very slim, able bodied and mostly white women performing sometimes extreme poses in remote or exoctic locations.
……Hmmmmm not very inclusive.
In fact, June 21 was chosen specifically because it is the longest day of the year and is celebrated as a day of joy and abundance and light…..unless you’re in the half of the world where it is the shortest day of the year and it’s dark and cold and wet.
….Hmmmmm not very inclusive.
It’s a shame because despite the very narrow image presented on Instagram of yoga, it is indeed suitable for literally E V E R Y B O D Y.
I’ve taught babies through to 100year olds and just about everything in between. I’ve taught the super strong and fit and those recovering from injury, illness and surgery. I practiced yoga the day before I gave birth, during the birth and the day after. I’ve taught those with emotional trauma, mental health issues and physical challenges and I’ve used yoga to help me through all of them myself.
You see the beauty of a yoga practice is that it meets you where you are at and invites you to connect with your body, open your mind and embrace your spirit. It challenges you look at where you are at then observe, question, accept and rejoice without judgement.
Often people tell me they can’t do yoga because “I’m not flexible” or “I can’t sit still” or “I’m not XYZ…” I like to tell them that if you can breathe, you can do yoga.
Over the 22 years that I’ve been practicing yoga, my practice has constantly changed, adapting to my lifestyle, body, needs and goals. I don’t practice every day but there isn’t a day that yoga hasn’t made my life better. It has changed who I am, the way I look at life and how I treat myself and others. It has broadened my mind and opened my heart in so many ways.
I am not in the best physical shape of my life at the moment, I’m fact it’s probably the worst it’s ever been, but I have never loved my body more. Yoga has taught me to appreciate every breath, rejoice in each day and accept myself with grace and humility.
So although I find many aspects of yoga and modern yoga culture to be challenging, today I celebrate International Yoga Day and the Winter Solstice by reflecting, nurturing and connecting.
May all beings be safe. May all beings be well. May all beings feel loved.
🙏💗🌈🙏💗🌈🙏💗🌈🙏💗🌈🙏💗🌈🙏
This documentary and some
Of the accompanying interviews are so eye opening. It fascinates me how we hold trauma and emotion in our bodies. Often people come to yoga to release tight muscles and stiff joints only to find the mental and emotional release is an unexpected opportunity for growth.
I’m always learning and studying but becoming more trauma sensitive in my teaching is a particular focus for me at the moment.
I love that anything I learn informs my teaching and makes my classes richer week by week.
This doco is available for just one more day online. Do yourself a favour and have a listen. Open your heart, expand your mind and always be a work in progress 😊.

This is the situation right now in Perth. 45000 people in masks attending the Derby this weekend. Yet women can only have one support person in labour.
I know of two Mummas on the weekend who, when birthing their babies had to choose between their Doula or their partner to be at the birth. A Doula who has been with them throughout their pregnancy, given them support, encouragement, birth education and was getting ready to do her best work at the main event. Or their partner who was excited to meet their baby. One of these Mummas chose her Doula so she had every chance of a positive birth experience.
Some care providers may feel sorry that this is the case but will our hospitals do anything to press the issue with the state government and step up to support birthing women? The cynic in me says, I doubt it.
When will birth be seen as a priority? As a transformative experience for a mother that deserves support and love? This rule stinks 🖕🏻
Looking for some fun activities to do with the kids these school holidays? Come to my kids yoga class at the new Museum Boola Bardip. This Saturday 10am we will be moving, breathing and having fun as we explore an imaginary jungle with stories, games and sequences under the magnificent blue whale inside the museum gallery. Come for the yoga class and stay on to explore the amazing exhibits for a wonderful and relaxing family adventure.

This afternoon I’m taking an Active Birth workshop for couples.
To me, Active Birth not only means staying upright and free to move instinctively in ways that support the body’s natural ability to birth, but also encouraging and empowering both parents to be actively involved in the birth process physically, emotionally and mentally. Helping them to make informed decisions and to experience birth as a wonderful, beautiful rite of passage, however it may unfold.
WELCOME TO MY LAUNCH PARTY!!!🤸♀️
I'm so excited to be able to share with you the brand new and very shiny Sense of Bliss website.
Designed by my very talented friend Kate at KLM designs❤, it will be home to all my yoga and mindfulness events, courses, classes and updates. Please check it out and watch this space as it grows.🌱

ACTIVE BIRTHING WORKSHOP FOR COUPLES
April 11th 1:30-3:30pm $89 per couple.
Includes 40 page information booklet to take home.
Spaces are strictly limited.
Book here: https://www.trybooking.com/BQCZO
Its on again folks! Back by popular demand, I will be running another Active Birth workshop for couples expecting a baby giving you the chance to spend a few hours learning how to prepare yourselves emotionally and mentally for the birth of your baby, no matter how or where you plan to birth.
Perhaps you have birthed before and found it to be a less than magical experience and want it to be better this time? Or maybe its your first birth and neither of you know quite what to expect or how you will feel?
Of course, it's easy to make checklists and pack your hospital bag but have you looked at your fears around birth and how that can impact your experience and risk of birth trauma? Or how you and your partner will work together during labour so you can both look back fondly on the birth? How can you get in the right mindset to manage pain, anxiety or overwhelm? How will you communicate when you can barely breathe?
This 2 hr workshop covers:
*physical poses and movements you can do during labour and birth to reduce pain and improve the birth experience.
*Breathing techniques to help you manage the surges and contractions
*Discussion points to work through fear and anything holding you back from an empowered, awe-inspiring experience.
*practical tips for fathers and Birth Support partners so you can be helpful and involved during the birth and labour even when your partner can't tell you what she needs.
This workshop is designed to work in addition to your hospital ante-natal classes which are great for the practicalities of where to go and what to bring to hospital but don't cover much of the emotional preparation. Or prenatal yoga classes which are wonderful for teaching you physical postures and breathing techniques but can't go into the deep mindset preparation needed for a fear-free birth experience.
We cover all this and more and give you a detailed book to take home so you will have everything you need to prepare yourselves to work as a team.
Sunday 11 April 1:30pm-3:30pm at Sun Moon Yoga Studio, Osborne Park
Numbers are strictly limited to just 6 couples and sold out last time so avoid disappointment and book your spot now!
Suitable at any stage of pregnancy and recommended for those at 20+weeks.
Book here: https://www.trybooking.com/BQCZO

Yesterday was International Women's Day. A day to celebrate women of all types and to call for improvements in the lives of women across the globe. To empower everyone to speak up about inequality and to point out where we can do better. Let's stop and think about how can we really make this "Generation Equal" and challenge ourselves, our policy makers and our cultures to make true change.
My prenatal yoga classes are centered around empowering women to feel strong, confident and actively involved in the decision making around the birth of their baby. Through education, practice and awareness we can help to make birth a joyful, uplifting experience no matter where, or how you birth.
