Congratulations to the MSCW Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Netball Team who showcased their talent and determination at the NSW CCC Netball Championships held at Jamison Park Netball Complex, Penrith. Competing against Catholic schools from across New South Wales, the level of competition was extremely tough.

Despite facing strong opponents, the teams put in an outstanding effort, with a mix of wins and narrow losses. Unfortunately, they did not make it to the finals, but the players performed fantastically, demonstrating skill, teamwork, and sportswomanship.

Congratulations to the MSCW Opens NRLW team for their outstanding performance at the NSW CCC Rugby League Cup. Facing tough competition from Newman Senior Technical College, St. Francis Xavier's College Hamilton, and St. Joseph's Banora Point, MSCW displayed incredible tackle technique, agility, and speed.

They reached the Grand Final, narrowly losing in golden point. A remarkable achievement as the first Sydney school to compete in this prestigious competition!

Congratulations to the MSCW Athletics Team for their outstanding triumph at the Conference 2 Athletics Championships on Tuesday 22 August held at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Track.

The unwavering commitment of MSCW Athletes shone brightly, exemplifying the Marist spirit against strong opposition from Rosebank, Domremy, and St Vincent's.

An incredible achievement!

Congratulations to Maya and Olivia (Year 9) who represented NSW at the School Sports Australia Swimming Championships in QLD, competing against the best swimmers from across Australia, including NT, SA, QLD, WA, ACT and VIC. This event is the pinnacle of school-level swimming, showcasing the nation's top talent.

Olivia took part in the 14 years 50m backstroke and secured 9th place and was selected in the NSW relay team. Maya competed in the 15 years 100m backstroke and achieved 2nd place.

This is a fantastic achievement by both students, and we are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication.

All back together. Ready to go home with hearts full of gratitude and a lot more courage.

ABSOLUTE COURAGE 💯

Year 9 Camp got off to a great start with our MSCW students demonstrating COURAGE in our day one activities.

On Monday of Week 6, MSCW was lucky enough to be visited by two former students, Annabelle and Jacinta (graduates of 2018 and 2021 respectively). These MSCW alumni came to speak to current students about their HSC journey, pathway to and through university, and career success in the fields of Pharmacy and Business Operations. The community was grateful for their wisdom and advice, with words of encouragement and inspiration given, and the chance for questions to be asked. We are very proud of the achievements of our alumni and grateful that they are willing to return to share their experiences and give back to the community!

Big congratulations to Megan (Year 10) as she was one of the finalists selected to compete in the Korean Performance Contest at The Korean Education Centre. This was part of the Korean Languages course that she is undertaking with the NSW School of Languages.

Megan placed 3rd and received a $200 gift card. Megan said, "It was a great experience, and I learned a lot from it."

Angelina and Tiffany from our Year 9 Design and Technology Class have won the Senior Category of the Australian Day of AI Competition which in 2024 attracted over 20'000 participants.

The annual competition was open to students in Years 5 to 10 and the projects the students developed were designed to assist them in applying the concepts learned during the Day of AI course we completed in class during Term 2.

The students in pairs developed an AI technology project that addressed climate change with Angelina and Tiffany's submission ultimately being selected.

Marist Mini Olympics - Week 2 finished on a high note with the House Dodgeball Competition. Congratulations to COLIN for coming in first place.

Return and Earn Day with the WSU was a great success. We collected 10 tubs in 2 days Thanks to all the girls who got involved!

Congratulations to Megan (Year 10) for her placement in the annual Arts HQ - Sydney Catholic Schools Classical Music Recital being held on Saturday 31 August from 1pm – 2.30pm at Southern Cross College Burwood.

Over the next two weeks, our Year 12 students will engage in their HSC Trial Exams.

We wish all the very best for our students as they complete their exams, and keep them in our prayers during this exam period.

The weather was perfect and provided outstanding conditions for track and field events for MSCW students.

Participation, once again, from all students in all houses was off the charts and several records were broken.

Results and records will be announced at the next Principal's Assembly on Wednesday 21 August.

Thank you to all the staff who helped make the carnival enjoyable for all and congratulations to all students on their enthusiasm and their MSCW spirit throughout the day.

Congratulations to Erin (Year 8) for representing NSW at the NSW All Schools U16’s Rugby 7’s Championships in QLD. As the youngest member of the team, she played against the best players from Catholic, Public, and Private schools in NSW.

Congratulations to Ellie (Year 12) who represented NSW CCC at the 2024 Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League Championships in Coffs Harbour. This event was a memorable experience for her, competing against other states and vying for a spot on the Australian Schoolgirls' team.

Congratulations to Izabella (Year 8) for representing NSW at the U16 Australian National Basketball Championship in Melbourne, where she finished 7th in Australia!

Congratulations to Ella (Year 12) for her impressive performance at the NSW All Schools Cross Country Championships at the International Equestrian Centre. Competing against students from both private and public schools, she finished 36th.
