MGGS held their first Australiaโs Biggest Morning tea today and Alhamdulilah it was a successful event! SRCโs have done a great job in preparing and running the event and we had a few generous donors who donated baked items. We raised a total of $468.80 for the Cancer Council ๐๐๐๐ This was above our target. We are so proud of our school community! InShaโAllah next year it can grow bigger and better.
Yesterday evening, our students Layla Elmir, Aaliyah Shirazi, Kadija Dadoun, Asiyah Ismail, Irtiqa ahmad, Noor Agha and Zoe Didar, accompanied by Ms Kazi, attended a cultural youth summit organised by Gallipoli iYouth. The summit is dedicated to promoting harmony and hope through the exploration of societal issues relevant to today's youth, while also drawing connections between diverse cultures and histories. It was an invaluable evening of awareness and inspiration.

MGGS is excited to announce guest speaker Assala Saraya at the Mother and Daughter Iftar on Tuesday 26 March. Assala is a social worker, social justice activist, public speaker and storyteller. Assala currently works as a Primary and Secondary school counsellor. She has completed her Bachelor of Social Work Graduating with First Class Honours from the University of Sydney. Assalaโs connection to her homeland and Palestinian identity fuel her human rights activism. Reminder, this is an exclusive event for the MGGS community. Donโt forget to RSVP via the parent portal.

Today, math enthusiasts around the world celebrated Pi Day! MGGS students did fun ฯ related activities. Pi Day is observed on March 14 (the 3rd month) because 3, 1, and 4 are the first three significant figures of ฯ. Fun fact, the day is also Albert Einsteinโs birthday!
Last Friday, on the 8th of March, Ms Cara and Year 9 visited the Kandinsky Exhibition at the Art Gallery of NSW. Vasily Kandinsky (1866โ1944) is one the great innovators of European abstraction, and broke new ground in painting during the first decades of the 20th century. This insightful exhibition reveals Kandinskyโs work in depth โ from his beginnings in Munich, to his return to his birthplace of Moscow with the outbreak of World War One, followed by the interwar years in Germany and his final chapter in Paris.

Today MGGS students celebrated International Womenโs Day and one of the activities was to think, reflect and share with their teachers and fellow peers what it means to them to be a woman! It was great to read of the goals, aspirations, the kindness and the convictions of these young ladies.
With this years IWD theme being โInvest in Women
- Accelerate Progressโ it is important to continuously invest in these young women and to create opportunities with the goal of shaping a better future!
Year 11 MGGS students celebrated International Womenโs Day 2024 at the NSW Parliament House.
To celebrate International Womenโs Day, the Parliament of NSW invited two Year 11 to take part in the Young Womenโs Leadership Seminar (YWLS). Khadija Dadoun and Reem Almawas were selected to attend this Seminar.
The keynote speaker was UNSW Associate Professor, Lisa Williams. Followed by a panel of current serving women MPs. Both sessions had a Q and A session.
