โGod our Father, We give you thanks and praise for fathers young and old.
We pray for young fathers, newly embracing their vocation; May they find courage and perseverance to balance work, family and faith in joy and sacrifice.
We pray for our own Fathers around the world whose children are lost or suffering; May they know that the God of compassion walks with them in their sorrow.
We pray for men who are not fathers but still mentor and guide us with fatherly love and advice.
We remember fathers, grandfather, and great grandfathers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love.
May we continue to Love like Christ.
Amenโ
Some exciting updates regarding our Gymnastics champion Molly. (Year 8) Last weekend Molly became the State Champion for Women's Artistic Gymnastics. She won 5 gold medals and scored the highest in the state for numerous events including beam, bars and floor.
She is an incredibly talented Gymnastic and a true Clancy woman.
On Monday, Year 10, who are currently studying The Holocaust, visited the Sydney Jewish Museum in Darlinghurst. It was a great experience for these young historians who were able to see a number of primary sources and hear the testimonies of Holocaust survivors!
These students are one of the last generations who will be able to meet and hear personal stories from Holocaust survivors, and Year 10 were very appreciative of this experience.
Jaylen's (Year 10) representative team the Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Spiders won the U/16s Metro Junior League Championship in Orange last weekend and were in turn crowned Basketball NSW State Cup Champions.
Another sporting success from our Clancy students ๐๐ฅโญ

Congratulations to Kaylan (Year 10) who has been selected by AFA (Australian Futsal Association) to represent Australia in the upcoming Tour of Brazil in November 2024. Kaylan had a very successful career in Futsal, having been selected by Football NSW to represent the state in the 2024 National Futsal Championships held earlier in the year. He also played for NSW in the National Club Futsal Championships held by AFA in January this year, where his U15s team took out the title.
We are extremely proud of Kaylan and his commitment to his sport, and wish him the best of luck โฝ๐ฅ
๐๐ A huge congratulations to Isaac (Year 10) who was recently recognised and congratulated by Mayor Ned Mannoun for his outstanding performance at the U/15 All Schools Championships on the Gold Coast, earning him a spot in the prestigious All Australian Hockey Team! ๐
During the July school holidays, Liam and Rishabh of Year 11 had the opportunity to attend the InnovateNOW program, led by Columbia Business School's esteemed Professor Daniel McQuade. The bootcamp was facilitated by Sydney Catholic Schools and supported by IVY Learning Lab and The Big Red Group.
The program aimed to empower young minds to envision, innovate and shape the future of business and ignite their entrepreneurial spirit. The students participated in various activities during the week learning essential business skills including idea generation and market research. Congratulations to Liam and Rishabh on the successful completion of the program.
Positive relationships go beyond just having a large circle of friends; they're about forming meaningful connections where we feel accepted and appreciated for who we are. It's about being able to rely on each other, share our wins and struggles, and offer genuine support and encouragement.
Positive relationships involve showing empathy, respect, and understanding towards one another, even when we may disagree.
Yesterday our Year 11 students assisted in making sandwiches for St Vincent De Paul. Thank you to all who donated money and volunteered their time to assist with this great cause.
Embracing diversity isn't just about tolerance; it's about actively embracing the richness that comes from unity in our differences.
At Clancy everyone belongs!
Congratulations to two of our students Zavier (Year 9) and Ivana (Year 8) who completed the City2Surf on Sunday. Both students conquered the infamous "Heartbreak Hill" and finished the 14km track in under 2 hours.
An amazing achievement from both these students. ๐๐ผ๐ช๐ผ
Understanding and compassion for others not only strengthen our personal connections with others but also significantly reduces the likelihood of hurtful behaviour in our school community.
Empathy is about putting ourselves in someone else's shoes, recognising their feelings, and responding with kindness and support. It could be as simple as listening without judgment when a friend is going through a tough time or reaching out to include someone who may be feeling left out. When we practise empathy in our interactions, it helps build a culture of inclusivity and acceptance where everyone feels valued and understood.
We welcome all father figures to our annual Fathers Day Breakfast. Please RSVP via the link on compass.
Some pics from the recent Year 9 Camp in Kincumber.
Year 9 had the opportunity to engage in a number of different activities, including the Giant Swing and the High Ropes, which pushed them outside of their comfort zones. We thank all our teachers who volunteered to attend the camp.
Today, we are focusing on challenging stereotypes and biased beliefs we may not even realise we have. Examples of stereotyping might be making assumptions based on someoneโs appearance, gender or country of birth. It could be assuming certain groups of people are only capable of doing certain roles, or treating people as representatives of a group instead of recognising their unique qualities and experiences.
By recognising and confronting these ideas, we can promote a culture of acceptance and inclusion โ where everyone feels respected and valued for who they are.
The Year 10 Design and Technology class used their design and engineering skills to create their own lucky dip robotic arms in groups of 2-3. The aim was to ensure their arm could be remotely operated by hydraulic pressure, consisting of at least two levers. The students did an amazing job and should be proud of their efforts!
This week is Bullying No Way: National week of action (12 to 16 August). At Clancy we believe that when , bullying has no place. What could you do to help someone feel like they belong?
This year Clancy had a huge number of students in our debating teams with two teams per year group competing weekly. A big thank you to these students and their parents who were committed to representing the College with pride. ๐ฃ
