The Future of the Digital Economy in Indonesia.
There are three main areas of focus in Indonesia's digital economy blueprint. The first is related to the development of digitally minded human resources (HR). The second is to encourage the digital economy with regard to infrastructure development. And, third is to ensure the digital economy ecosystem runs well, including in its innovation and regulation.
Three other challenges that must be faced by the digital economy in Indonesia are regulatory issues, cybersecurity, and business competition in the digital realm. The three are interrelated and must be accelerated immediately if Indonesia wants to accelerate digital transformation.
With these considerations in mind, the University of Technology Sydney in collaboration with Katadata Indonesia initiated a webinar program to dissect the current state of digital economy life in Indonesia today and its opportunities in the future. This is huge... 🐠🐟🐡🍥 Our UTS Science researchers alongside tour operators will be planting another 100,000 corals at reefs in far north Queensland with funding from the Great Barrier Reef Foundation. This is science at its absolute best!
On the Great Barrier Reef, marine heatwaves in 2016 and 2017 caused mass bleaching of coral in the far northern sections—an event that was repeated in Feb this year when sea surface temperatures were the warmest ever recorded.
Since its inception in 2018, the Coral Nurture Program led by Professor David Suggett and Dr Emma Camp, along with Wavelength Reef Cruises John Edmondson, has seen more than 25,000 corals outplanted to the Reef.
New funding support from the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, through its partnership with the Australian Government's Reef Trust, will enable tourism operators to plant an additional 100,000 corals on the reefs between Cairns and Port Douglas over the next 3.5 years, as well as transition Coral Nurture Program to a long-term reef stewardship platform.
