Early Childhood Early Childhood Educators’ Day is coming up!!!
On 31 July 2024, the Federal Department of Education announced changes extending Child Care Subsidies so eligible children at out-of-school-hours-care (OSHC) services on the same site as preschool services. But how would Preschool+OSHC work? What are the potential consequences? ACA NSW seeks answers from the NSW Department of Education.

ACA NSW has formally asked the NSW Deputy Premier & Minister for Education and Early Learning (the Hon Prue Car MP) to directly intervene to help the sector at a time of severe labour shortages and much higher resignations and attritions.
Despite NSW-based services being a third of all services nationally, the excessively high number of confirmed breaches by NSW-based early childhood education and care services dwarfs all confirmed breaches by all other states and territories combined across the last 4 years.
ACA NSW seeks a new equilibrium whereby NSW-based services will have a more sensible level of regulatory compliance activities without compromising on quality, outcomes for children and the safety of children.

Are you planning to open a new early childhood education and care service? Do you need to sit the NSW Government's (knowledge assessment) test? If already an Approved Provider, why and when do you still need to do the test? What is the timeframe from application to approval? What is involved in the application process? What to expect from the NSW Department of Education during this process? What to do if I fail the test?
In New South Wales, as part of the Application Process for Providers and Services, new applicants as well as some existing Approved Providers will need to sit a compulsory examination (ie assessment) for all the individual(s) who is/are in management and control of the service.
This training (we call it Quickies because it is short (ie under 2 hours)) provides practical information for new as well as existing Approved Providers of future early childhood education and care services.
To register for the next live training on Monday 24 June 2024 from 6.30pm - 8.30pm, please click: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/preparing-for-the-approved-providers-approval-process-test-2024-tickets-795691293077?aff=oddtdtcreator
Participants will electronically receive the slides, any supplemental information as well as access to the recorded video for up to 90 days after the event.
NOTE: ACA NSW Members' tickets are $110 inc GST. Non-member tickets are $180 inc GST.

By dressing your team in a professional and cohesive uniform, you can instill confidence in your families, showcasing your centre as a reputable and trustworthy institution. Moreover, a uniform can boost morale, giving your staff a sense of pride and unity, while also reflecting the values and mission of your service.
