Happy Heavenly birthday Rylee Rose Black, you turn 7 today ❤️🦄
Missing you as much today as every day, never again forgotten.
We love you, our beautiful girl ❤️🦋🦄
Thank you to all those who donated, today Rylee raised $1,573 for Black Dog Institute ❤️🦄
Merry Christmas everyone. Remember to ask yourself today, and every other day; where are my kids right now?
It’s a busy time of the year, please look out for the little ones ❤️🦄
Missing you today, as we do every day Rylee
Merry Christmas Ho Ho Ho
Another case of a child being left in a school bus. Half an hour down the road from my old home town. Lucky it was a cold winters day, poor little girl must have been terrified though 😣
When will the government mandate child detection systems in vehicles? I’ve been saying for two years that you can’t rely on policies and procedures, but the government didn’t care.
How many more must die before those in power make the changes to protect these poor kids?

Live your life for those who can’t, and remember, tomorrow is promised to no one ❤️🦄
Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best ideas. Check out what this little girl came up with back in 2019. Develop your own positive habits and spread the word so we can prevent hot car deaths; we have to keep the conversation alive!
For Every Mom, unfortunately this article didn’t save Rylee, even though it was published 15 months prior to her death. Imagine if the cars keys had been attached to her car seat on that day.
Thank you to all our supporters friends and family here, keep up the great work.

And here we go again.. this beautiful little girl is so incredibly lucky.
The weather would have been up to 30* on Friday.. how this little girl survived I do not know, but I’m bloody glad she did.
This doesn’t have to happen, mandate child detection systems so it CANT HAPPEN!
We must stop relying on people, the best way to prevent hot car deaths is by eliminating the human factor. The technology is there, it’s cheap, let’s use it.
Enough is enough! How many more children must suffer and die before we address the issue seriously???

Rylee has a buddy bench!
A huge Thank you, to the amazing team at Goodstart Early Learning Townsville!
Rylee absolutely loved going to her school, she had amazing carers, friends and fun times at the Kern Brothers Drive centre while she was going there. Every time we drove past, she’d get excited and ask if she could play at her school.
The team there have gone out of their way, and were successful in obtaining a community grant from Bunnings Warehouse Australia; they provided a buddy bench and two beautiful plaques to give Rylee her own special space at h th e centre.
We were invited to come along and fit the plaques to the buddy bench once it arrived.. we just love it!
The idea is that if there are any kids who are sad or lonely, or maybe just want somewhere to sit and read or relax.. they can go sit with Rylee at her buddy bench.
When they told me their plans, it melted my heart. I love that her memory lives on with the Goodstart team, and that even now after two years and 3 months, she is still thought of and included at her school. Of course she would be at big school now, but this place will always be Rylee’s school to me ❤️
Thank you to all involved in the buddy bench program, and also to all of our followers, family and friends, for your ongoing support and love - Rylee lives on through us all
❤️🦄
Another lucky escape, I’m so glad these two little ones are ok..
Only 3 weeks since the little boy died in Sydney after being left in a hot car. Seriously, when will it end??
Mandatory child detection systems will make sure our future generations are protected from hot car death.. I wish we could just make it happen
Keep the conversation alive folks, Remember Rylee ❤️🦄

It took 14 months, but we got a response from our national parliamentary petition today.
ANCAP is not enough, that just means the top of the line cars are covered.. we need all road registered vehicles to have child detection systems.

Here’s a story of a close call for a poor child who was left in a car - the day before the little boy in Sydney died from the same thing. Comes as The NRMA report the highest number of children rescued from hot cars in FIVE years. 213 children rescued in NSW and ACT alone in January 2023
Please people, wake up. Slow down. Think about your children.
Talk to your friends and family. Encourage those with little ones to leave a shoe, their handbag or their phone in the back seat - whatever it takes. Don’t let this keep happening.

It’s happened again 💔 I was only just thinking the other day about how there hadn’t been a hot car death for a while, I wondered if our efforts had made an effort. Or were we just lucky.
My blood is boiling and I’m heart broken for this poor kid, no one should have to go through this.
Why does this keep happening? Seriously, take a minute and ask yourselves, where are my kids right now? Do better.

Today is Rylee’s 5th birthday ❤️ happy heavenly birthday princess
You should be here, we should be celebrating your birthday and getting excited for you to start big school next year
I felt so lucky to share a birthday with you Rylee, this day will never be the same without you
Always in our hearts and minds, we love you as much now as ever
Hey everyone, sorry for the long time between posts.
Life has been crazy busy. I’ve taken a proper job, finally felt like I was ready to go back to working for the man again.
After Rylee died, I took a nose dive into some dark places, until I snapped out of it enough to get back to work, (the banks are relentless, they don’t care for life’s downs, they just want their money!). I spent a year and a half working for myself, doing whatever mechanical work I could get my hands on. Engine rebuilds, machine overhauls, farm work, truck repairs, car services; whatever I could find. I had some fantastic customers, and learned so much. I enjoyed it, but the inconsistencies were tough. We lived week to week and I felt like I was just running myself into the ground.
I’ve finally found myself in a place where I feel like I can get back to what I do best - business management. I’ve taken a job; maybe now instead of worrying about where the next weeks worth of food, fuel and loan repayments are coming from, I can just do my thing.
I honestly feel guilty; I’ve really let our efforts at Remember Rylee Inc fall by the way side these past few months while I got myself back up and running properly
After The response I got from Barnaby Joyce I was deflated, defeated. Gutted. I promised Rylee I would do this for her. Interestingly, after the petition was finished, I never again heard from Phillip Thompson OAM MP - Serving Our Community despite his promise that he would make this happen. Where you at Phil?
I’ve found new hope in that maybe the new government will see the sense in our request.
It is time to push again. Our request is reasonable, achievable and admirable. Let’s lead the world, even if we are “less than 1% of the global market (quoting Barnaby).
We are aussies, we are leaders, we set the bar for the rest of the world.
Winter is over, the days are getting hot again, and it’s only a matter of time before another poor child dies a horrible death in a hot vehicle.
Let’s push again. If we don’t get anywhere with the government, at the very least, awareness in the community, our message “where are your kids right now?” Can save a life. Don’t give complacency a chance.
We can’t give up!
I’m going to post a link below to Cass and I having a go on a giant swing today.. it was a bit hairy, we second guessed it for a moment. If you listen close enough you’ll hear us say let’s do it for Rylee. Live this life for both of us.
I miss my beautiful girl so much, it’s a pain we live with every minute of every day; nothing can ever fix that. All we can do is trust she is living through us.
Please, remember your children. Don’t ever leave them in the car. They deserve better!

This is not related directly to our topic of hot car deaths, but it is something that will hit home with most of our followers nonetheless.
Mental health. In particular, I’m talking about a certain care provider; the Black Dog Institute.
Over the years, as everyone does in life, I’ve experienced my ups, and my downs. My recent downs; since Rylee was killed 18 months and 10 days ago, have been by far the worst, but I’m not here to compare downs. Depression and anxiety are real problems that need a better solution.
How do we achieve a better outcome for mental health issues? Support.
I have a councillor from Homicide Victims Support Group, and I have a psychologist who can help me along the way. I appreciate their services, but don’t lean on them anywhere near as much as I should.
Sometimes we probably think we are tougher than we really are.
Perhaps, it could be because I have found help to be anything but easy to access.
The system is not easy and certainly not quick. After all this time, the psychological treatment I receive, and my daughters receive, is all out of pocket with minimal Medicare rebates applicable.
It is expensive and problematic to continually renew mental health care plans - even if it is blatantly obvious we are in need of these services, and even then, it barely covers half the expense incurred. As such, my daughters always have the access they require, but I haven’t given myself the same priority.
The Black Dog Institute are an amazing service established to better support those in need.
Just so happens, I have a great friend doing great things in an effort to raise money to support them on their journey to improve mental health care in Australia!
My friend Benny has embarked on an epic adventure, riding his Harley Davidson from Echuca, VIC all the way up the coast to right here, Townsville QLD; in an effort to raise funding and awareness for the Black Dog Institute.
He arrived this afternoon, and I was equally as humbled surprised and stoked by his phone call looking to catch up!
I haven’t seen this guy for around 6-7years, but it was as if it were yesterday. Last time I saw Benny we were 1,500m under the hot humid ground below Cobar NSW, busting ourselves to fix a drill rig. Today we had a beer together like no time had passed at all.
An absolute gentleman, with a heart of gold. Please, help Benny on his quest to improve mental health care in Australia.
Is this the end of the journey for Benny, or just the beginning? Personally I’d like to see this amazing human continue to travel, raise awareness for those in need and assist with finding for those who provide.
Also noteworthy is his dedication to his children; he has been doing his trek week on - week off, to fly home to be the amazing dad he is to his kids.
Check out the link below and see what he has to say. I haven’t donated anything to his cause, I apologised and explained, but I just can’t afford it. We do it tough, but perhaps you could spare $5,$10,$20 to cheer Benny on? I promise I will donate as soon as I can brother.
Thanks to all who took the time to read my spiel.
Much love, stay shiny side up brother ❤️🦄

Another very close call 😖
It seems she is in a serious condition, I desperately want her to be ok. Thoughts and best wishes with you and your family beautiful girl
Please, Scott Morrison (ScoMo) we need to do better. Mandate child detection systems and make a difference.
Barnaby Joyce we may be less than 1% of global car sales, but really, who cares. Have the balls to stand up to the manufacturers for our childrens sake. Mandate child detection systems.
We can do this. No child ever needs to go through this again. The technology is there. The cost is negligible. Why can’t we do it? How many children will we let die?

Girl, 3, fighting for life after left on daycare bus for seven hours A young girl is 'gravely ill' in Rockhampton Hospital after spending seven hours locked in a minivan that was taking her to the Le Smileys Early Learning childcare centre.
If the bus had a child detection system, Malik would still be here today.
Regardless of all the “soft controls” ie procedures and policies, the human factor in this scenario resulted in this poor child dying a terrifying death.
Just like Rylee did.
Enough is enough. Mandate child detection systems in ALL VEHICLES! This needless tragedy can be stopped!

Former childcare worker learns fate over toddler’s minibus death Dionne Grills was on the bus that picked up the little boy in February 2020. His body was found in the vehicle almost six hours later.
Hi everyone,
We received the below response from Barnaby Joyce
Where to from here? I won’t give up. We have to keep fighting. Each and every child who have lost their lives deserve the change we are fighting for, we must stop hot car deaths. We have to do it for the kids who will die if we don’t do anything.
Can you all please take a moment to have a read and let me know your thoughts? I need some direction, and would appreciate some feedback.
Maybe we do represent less than 1% but surely there’s a way. Do we need to find a way to set a global standard?
I’m a mechanic, not a politician.

Still waiting on a response from the government regarding our request to mandate child detection systems in all new cars. Hot car deaths must stop! Phillip Thompson OAM MP - Serving Our Community & Barnaby Joyce
Forever in our hearts and thoughts Rylee ❤️🦄
Well!
Our petition has been tabled in parliament, and has AGAIN been sent to Barnaby Joyce. (See screenshot below of response email received today.)
Mr Joyce, we lodged a petition last year, with QLD parliament. On September 27th 2021 it was sent to you for your review. We are yet to receive a response. (See photo below)
We have now completed a federal petition; it has once again landed on your desk as the responsible person to take our request into consideration.
Please, take a moment and here us out. Feel free to make contact with me and we can have a chat about what needs to be done. You could have this sorted before smoko if you choose to do so!
The longer we leave it, the more likely further children will die a terrible death.
You have the power here to save the lives of innocent, defenceless children!
Scott Morrison (ScoMo) Phillip Thompson OAM MP - Serving Our Community get amongst it, you can change the world for the better. Do it for those who no longer can.
