Here are the details for people wishing to attend Ann Carey's funeral.
The funeral will be held in the Ballarat Funeral Centre (Pat Cashin Funerals), 1114 Doveton Street North, Ballarat North on Friday 1 November at 11.00am. Burial will follow in the Gordon Cemetery.

It is with great sadness that we pass on the news that the club has lost our dear friend and long time member Ann Carey. Ann passed away peacefully last night after her long illness. Ann loved music and dance and brought her infectious smile to each club event she came to. A truly bright light of the folk club - we will miss you dearly Ann. Our thoughts are with her partner Steve Martin, his daughters Jess and Cassandra and Ann's family. We will remember the great joy, friendship and love you brought to our lives. May You Rest In Peace. A lovely bunch of people singing and playing a lovely bunch of tunes last night at the Old Timey session. Much fun had by all. Be sure to catch us at the Club Showcase on 17th November, and the next Old Timey session on Monday 18th November.

Old Timey Session is on next Monday 21st 7:30pm at the Hub. Last one before the showcase folks. Come along for some tunes and fun all y'all.

Well the Newport Storytellers certainly had some fun today!

A very interesting talk tonight History of Newport Lakes by.local historian academic Dr Dominique Hes. The place - Newport Lakes - has been the site of our bush dance since 2006 and so it will be fascinating to hear the story of how it came to be - esp as the story gies back 4 Million Years. 7.30pm upstairs at the W***y Town Hall.

Happy Spring Equinox, everyone! The Newport Drummers celebrated at Altona beach. It was a perfect night!

Newport Bush Orchestra - all 22 players - entertained the good folk from the Barwon Heads Fine Music Society on Sunday.
