**FRIDAY NIGHT LEAGUE TAG UPDATE***
Due to ground integrity and unavailability, all League Tag Friday night fixtures have been CANCELLED.
It’s important to note, that the cancellation of these games will also bring the competition into line with the rest of the Junior League, as these age groups were able to play an additional game on Friday 3rd May.
As a priority, we are aiming to complete a full round of Merge Competition, Seniors and a Girls Tackle game across our region, although we will be reviewing the grounds and draws again tomorrow in consultation with the local council.
JUNIOR LEAGUE GAMES UPDATE
Please be advised that all Junior League, League Tag and Merge Competition matches scheduled for this weekend have been cancelled due to the ground conditions and predicted continued wet weather.
A timely reminder, following RESPECT round to continue to respect and support our match officials at all times.
Junior games within the Illawarra have been cancelled due to council closing the grounds.
Any Illawarra teams playing in the Group 7 area, your games are going ahead as normal.
Round will be held on the weekend of 4-5 May across the state.
This year’s Award will be named after NSWRL’s Danielle Kifooti, who passed away in February this year. Danielle founded the annual Respect Round in 2016.
WORDS HAVE POWER is the theme. In 2024, we ask all our participants to carefully choose the words they use, acknowledge and refrain from using derogatory, hateful, disrespectful and offensive language, and instead use words that inspire, compliment, encourage and embrace diversity and inclusion.
‘Words Have Power’ allows us to acknowledge that words have the ability to either hurt or heal, to inspire or discourage, to insult or praise. The words we use can affect people’s self-confidence, their self-worth, the way they look at and value themselves, and the way in which they feel able to express themselves.
As a Club, we are encouraging everyone to take the pledge:
Take the PLEDGE
https://www.cognitoforms.com/.../NSWRL2024RESPECTPledgeWO...
On the day, we will be asking all coaches, players and officials to meet in the middle of the field before each game and shake hands as a show of respect. We’ll then share photos on our socials. We appreciate your support with this!
