During this week’s Free Being Me group, we discussed influencers! Influencers can shape trends and inspire people, but remember, not all that glitters is gold. ✨📸Keep reading to learn more on how to navigate influence wisely.

Critical thinking🧠: always research and certify information shared by influencers.

Setting personal boundaries📲: monitor time spent “surfing” social media and influencer’s pages.

Project your values🔐: follow accounts/people that align with your values.

Remind yourself 📣: remind yourself that influencers share a “highlight reel”, they post mainly the best parts of their lives!

Happy Monday everyone! ☀️ A relationship with food can be a hard thing to navigate and sometimes we need help! Here are some mindsets we can adapt to develop a healthier relationship with food and eating 💜

Photos from Danielle's Place Support & Resource Centre's post 03/04/2024

Happy Monday everyone!💜 Body neutrality is a tricky, yet beneficial concept to grasp and try out! There is a lot of pressure to love the way we look and that is not always achievable for everyone. Body neutrality tells us that even if you don’t like the way you look, that’s okay because it has no tie to your self worth!

Body neutrality also encourages us to show grace and compassion for the function of our bodies, instead of the appearance. 💜🤍

As we begin to reach the middle of the week, let’s take a minute to ground ourselves and find calm admits the chaos. Embrace the present moment by finding:
5 things you can see 👁️
4 things you can feel 🤚
3 things you can hear 👂
2 things you can smell 👃
1 thing you can taste 🍲

By engaging our senses, we bring ourselves back to the present moment, soothing the mind and our soul 🌝💫

If you’re looking for further services to develop a healthy relationship with eating and body-image, check us out at Danielle’s Place! Check out the last slide and call ROCK’s ASN line for more information at 289-266-0036

Happy 🌻 We are almost halfway through the week- so it is time for a check-in with ourselves. Remember, self-care isn’t selfish! Whether it’s nourishing our bodies, getting enough rest, leaning on our support system or unplugging from social media, it’s important to prioritize YOU today!💜

Photos from Danielle's Place Support & Resource Centre's post 02/05/2024

Embrace with a new perspective: harm reduction. Every small step towards recovery deserves recognition and support. Let’s reduce the stigma by meeting individuals where they are and empower autonomy in their healing journey! We deserve our quality of life to be prioritized 💜 Thank you for this message!

For this we wanted to remind you of the value of journaling 📝 journaling is a great way to boost emotional wellness! It helps to focus a scattered mind by collecting thoughts on paper, instead of having them float around in your head. These journaling prompts help to build self-compassion, the ability to be kind towards yourself 🤗 by showing yourself kindness, you can boost your mood, self-esteem, and overall wellness. You’re important! And it’s important to be kind to you 💜
