We were thrilled to have the UNB REDS Women’s Hockey team at today! We were impressed with their effort and teamwork during a tough partner workout.
Wishing them the best of luck as they gear up for their upcoming season! Can’t wait to see their hard work and dedication pay off on the ice. 🏒

Play ball 🥎
We had a great turnout for some softball games this afternoon! A big thank you to everyone who came to play, cheer us on, cook burgers, and fetch those home run balls!
What sport event should we do next?
I sit too much, and I think you do too…
Let’s face it. While our CrossFit class does us tremendous good, it can’t completely undo the damage of sitting on our butts all day.
Being sedentary or what I like to call uninterrupted sitting is bad for our metabolic and emotional health.
This September we are running a movement challenge to encourage you to get outside and move more throughout your day. And yes, there are prizes for participation!
Step 1. Set a reasonable goal. Take an honest look at how much time you can dedicate to moving per day. While we want you to move more than you are now, we don't want you to set yourself up for failure. 🎯
Step 2. Hit that goal 5 days per week. While we'd love for you to hit your movement goal every day we know that life happens. Aim to hit your movement goal 5 days per week! 🗓️
Step 3. Fill out your distance/time on our September challenge sheet. Print it off and put it on your fridge. Make your goal known! 🎉
Step 4. Feel better and (possibly) win prizes!! 🎁

I sit too much, and I think you do too. — York County CrossFit A sedentary lifestyle negatively impacts metabolic health. Although we may be getting our morning or evening workout in, a lot of us are participating in what I like to call - uninterrupted sitting. Uninterrupted sitting not only impacts our metabolic health but also puts us at an increased risk fo

Don’t limit your fitness to the four gym walls.
This past weekend our members participated in Firefit, last month we did a bike tour, and next month we’re hosting a softball game and going for a sunset paddle! 🥎 🛶 🚲
While these events are all great community builders there’s another reason we plan them: to encourage participation in sports and outdoor activities!
In the gym, you build the foundation, but in sports, you put that foundation to use. It’s your chance to express and test the 10 general physical skills we train.
Fredericton has an abundance of recreational sport leagues and outdoor activities. To name a few: ultimate frisbee, pick up hockey, pickleball, unreal mountain bike trails, soccer for all levels, and kayak rentals.
Comment below what you love to use your fitness for ⬇️⬇️

CrossFit: Changing the Game — York County CrossFit Fast forward a few years, and I am coming off three years in a row where injuries had kept me out for long durations of the season, and I felt as though my sports career was coming to an end. Imagine that, 23 years old and thinking – I’m too old for this sh*t. It was that year that I was

Class Warm Up: An important part of getting better at CrossFit. — York County CrossFit Here’s the thing. The warm-up is not your coach's idea of torture before a hard workout. It’s actually your secret weapon against looking like a baby giraffe trying to deadlift for the first time.
Warm Ups = the secret to getting better at CrossFit.
Are you showing up to class only ready to put the work in when the WOD starts? You’re missing out.
Let’s break down the two warm ups we have in class.
General Warm Up:
- increase body temperature, breathing rate, and heart rate
- prepare athletes to handle the intensity of the workout
- allow coaches to correct movement mechanics that the specific warmup will build upon and warm up their coaches eye
- allow coaches to start to assess capacity for scaling modifications
Specific Warm Up:
- gives coaches the opportunity to teach, see, and correct movement by calling reps and holding athletes in static positions
- gives athletes a chance to dial in their movement before adding load or intensity
- helps athletes progress their skills and try things that might be a bit beyond their capacity before dialling things back for the workout
- allows coaches to tailor the workout for the athlete to meet the intended stimulus of the day
All that to say - the warm up is not your coaches idea of torture. It’s your secret weapon against looking like a baby giraffe trying to deadlift for the first time.
Aging is an inevitable part of life, but your age doesn’t have to be the defining factor for your health and vitality.
If you had access to a drug that would increase the years of your life and the life in your years, would you take it?
What if we told you that the drug, the most powerful longevity drug, is exercise.
Aging is an inevitable part of life, but your age doesn’t have to be the defining factor for your health and vitality. — York County CrossFit Seniors who engage in CrossFit experience notable improvements in muscle mass and strength, which contribute to enhanced overall physical independence.
Motivation is what gets you started. Consistency is what keeps you going.
