Full syringe for this first-time-filler beauty and I am swoooooning over her before/after! She had size as well as the prettiest shape naturally; however, she was lacking density and to the body of her lip resulting in textural concerns. ⁣

Those who have been following me awhile likely know I refer to lips like hers as “fluffy lips” and they’re my absolute favourite lips to inject! Fluffy lips can be a bit tricky to inject as they generally require not only more product, but also varying types of product to fill the void space and provide a more cohesive texture. Their initial healing phase often yields more lumps, bumps, and bruising than the average lip as blood finds it’s way into the looser tissue. But trust me when I say the final result ALWAYS looks incredibly soft and natural!⁣

Telangiectasia, often referred to as “spider veins”, is a condition characterized by dilation of the capillaries, which causes them to appear as small red or purple clusters on the skin.⁣
⁣
As you can see in these photos, this patient was experiencing some mild telangiectasia to his nose. Upon evaluation, we decided to approach treatment using our DyeVL handpiece. ⁣
⁣
When treating spider veins, our goal during the procedure is to achieve specific clinical endpoints and stopping once we believe we have. With telangiectasia treatment, we want to see either either 1) immediate vessel disappearance or 2) vessel darkening. If you look closely, you can see this patient actually experienced both! The smaller vessels disappeared almost completely and some of the larger vessels darkened. We will follow up with him in a few weeks and see if a secondary treatment is necessary. ⁣

Did you know if you maintain your lip filler in the beginning, your body tends to metabolize through it slower moving forward leading to you requiring less product and less frequent maintenance sessions in the future? She’s a prime example of that! We now do a half syringe once or twice a year to keep things plump and hydrated! 🥰⁣

This patient had beautiful lips to begin with; however, she was hoping to improve her top:bottom ratio and add a little more structure to her Cupid’s Bow all while keeping the final result soft and natural looking. ⁣

We used a total of 1.2cc dermal fuller over 2 sessions to create this gorgeous result. Keep in mind these photos are immediately post injection - the inflammation and redness will dissipate over the next 1-2 weeks leaving her with an even prettier result.⁣

Did you know each and every one of us has our own individual lip print? And no, I’m not talking about the mark left behind from a lipstick-stained kiss! The distinct pattern of lines and grooves visible on the lips referred to as “sulci labiorum” are what gives rise to a person’s lip print. ⁣

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE injecting your lips but nothing makes me happier as an injector than a patient open to optimizing their overall facial structure! ⁣⁣⁣

Most people view their facial features independent of one another when it comes to injectables. This thought process and application of same often yields results that appear “off” or incomplete due to neglected transitional zones. In simpler terms, someone may see their lips as the entire puzzle when they should instead see them as one piece contributing to the puzzle that is their face. When we choose to treat one piece, we must consider addressing the adjacent pieces as well in order to provide a natural, balanced look. ⁣⁣⁣

This beautiful patient is a perfect example highlighting the benefit of addressing structures surrounding the desired treatment area. She initially came in wanting to make her lips fuller; however, she naturally lacked volume to her labiomental crease while simultaneously possessing more volume to her melomental areas. That being said, if we treated her lips independent of the surrounding structures, we would further protrude her lower lip making the natural variances to her lower face more significant.⁣⁣

So what did we do for her? We treated her lips and added small amounts of product beyond them to soften the transition from her lower lip to her chin. In doing this, we were able to achieve a natural looking result that complimented her facial balance and harmony. ⁣⁣
