🌸 Fact: Shallow breathing can limit the diaphragm’s range of motion, push your nervous system into “fight or flight,” and make you feel short of breath, tense or anxious. Mindful breathing helps shift this!

When you get on your mat, check in with yourself and set an intention for your practice.
Here’s why:

By pausing, reflecting, and setting an intention, you can create a practice that feels good! It can also help change negative thought patterns that you may have into more positive ones.

My approach to teaching yoga and Pilates has been profoundly influenced by having over 20 years of experience as a massage therapist.
Having seen numerous injuries, I approach each class with a keen awareness of the body's limitations and the importance of injury prevention.
My background in massage therapy has also honed my ability to sense the energy of others.
I'm intuitively attuned to my students' needs, always taking their day-to-day experiences into account.
With a trauma-informed approach, I help clients leave class feeling empowered and educated so they can help themselves feel better!

I believe breathwork is MAGIC!
Here’s one breathing technique you can practice daily:
🌸 Place one hand on your stomach and the other hand on your chest. Imagine there’s a balloon in your stomach that you’re filling up (by expanding the stomach) and deflating (by gently contracting the abdominal muscles).
🌸 Breathe in through the nose slowly and feel your stomach rise as you inhale doing your best to keep it calm and light.
🌸 Exhale slowly. As you do so, imagine the balloon in your stomach deflating. The hand on your chest should remain mostly still.
🌸 Once you feel comfortable with this you can increase the time of the inhale and exhale slowly.
Now, set an alarm on your phone to practice mindful breathing daily.
The Fall Schedule is out! My classes are designed with you in mind! Limited to 6-9 participants to ensure a safe and personalized experience. The sessions are 8 weeks giving you plenty of time to dive deep into your practice and see real progress.

🧘♂️ Increase energy by taking deep inhalations to fill your abdomen with air. This sends more oxygen to your cells, giving you a boost of energy to get you through your day.
🧘♂️ Reduce stress and anxiety by focusing on lengthening your exhalations. Longer exhales activate your body's relaxation response, helping you feel calmer and more centered.

When I tell people this I usually see their chins drop to the floor, and I have to remind them, I didn’t start there!
I started on beginner trails before building up to intense terrains — a normal (and even expected) trajectory!
