This is a great piece of information and sums up some of the reasons why I don't look at posture as a source of pain. Our posture adapts and readapts minute by minute, day by day, and has a more neural component than a muscle being weak, short, tight, whatever the fancy terms practitioners are using today. Strengthening your back muscles will not pull your shoulders back, yet what's the first thing people get prescribed with "rounded shoulders"? If it's a strength issue in your back, maybe we should ask where and when your strength went. That seems more logical and a more serious concern to consider. Your posture is you, at that moment in time. It is your brain creating a safe environment for your body to move and work optimally.

Infant massage and brain maturation measured using EEG: A randomised controlled trial - PubMed Central alpha regional relative power was greater in massaged infants compared to SC group infants, suggesting relatively greater brain maturation in this area. A measurable massage dose effect in favour of greater brain maturation, shows promise for verification in a larger clinical trial.
