The SMYM of Western Canada is hosting their first regional conference on August 25-27 in Edmonton. This important event is an oppurtunity for faith formation, leadership training, and connecting with other Syro Malabar youth in Canada. The conference will feature workshops, seminars, activities, fellowship, and a cultural night. We highly encourage all the youth in Western Canada to participate. The registration fee and link will be shared soon!

Calling all youth to join us on May 5 to May 7 2023 for our youth retreat located in Orangeville, Ontario! We will engage in wonderful discussion by our speakers Father Kevin Mundackal, Mr Boban Mathew and Dr Agnes Thomas.

Come join us on November 19 for World Youth Day 2022 on zoom at 8PM EST! It will be a time of prayer and fellowship with lots of activities and friends! We will be joined by Fr Kevin Mundackal as our keynote speaker as well as the Inaugural Address by Bishop Jose Kalluvelil. Hope to see you there!

For the first time ever, SMYM Canada and DYA USA will be conducting a joint North American youth summit, CONNECT 2022! Save the dates of October 14-16, where we will meet in Niagara Falls, Ontario. All youth 18 and above are invited to attend!

The above bible passage was set as the theme of the Arise 2022 pilgrimage, an initiative of the Syro-Malabar collective mission involving the Eparchies of Chicago, Great Britain, Melbourne, Mississauga, and the Apostolic Visitations of Europe. A total of 75 participants attended between 17th-22nd June 2022 in Rome, Italy.

Members of our own team had the honour and privilege of attending this pilgrimage to encounter Jesus Christ and deepen their personal relationship with Him. Through Arise 2022, we celebrate and engage the youth to the life, mission, and work of the Syro-Malabar Church.

Arise 2022 had many great highlights, most notably an audience with His Holiness, Pope Francis with our very own Fr. George Joseph and Bishop Mar Jose Kalluvelil. We also visited four major Papal Basilicas, including St Paul Outside the Walls. We were extremely blessed to receive Holy Qurbana at St. Peter’s Basilica on the Tomb of Pope St. John Paul II!

The Syro-Malabar community of Rome was most welcoming and gracious to us. With them, we were able to truly experience the Syro-Malabar Catholic community and its Apostolic Tradition

Happy Easter everyone! Today concludes the Passion of Christ and we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. His resurrection signifies the victory of life over death and so we must rejoice on this very special day!

“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” - 1 Corinthians 15:55

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

That is why Good Friday is referred to as good. May the grace and Lord surround and be with you all this Good Friday!

Today, on the Thursday before Easter, we commemorate the institution of the Holy Eucharist during the Last Supper. Have a blessed Maundy Thursday everyone!

Happy Palm Sunday everyone! Today marks the beginning of Holy Week. On this day, we remind ourselves to welcome Jesus in our hearts, the same way the people did when they waved palm branches in the air, greeting Jesus as he triumphantly entered into Jerusalem.

"On the next day, when the great crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, they took palm branches and went out to meet him, and cried out: "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the king of Israel.""
- John 12: 12-13

Tomorrow, April 2nd, is our SMYM National Way of the Cross! Join us while we gather in prayer to reflect on the stations of the cross.

Happy Ordination Anniversary to our Youth Apostate Director Jojo Acha. Thank you for all you have been doing for our youth. God bless you abundantly and keeping you in our prayers on this special day.

The Syro-Malabar Catholic Eparchy of Mississauga extends hearty congratulations and prayerful wishes to Rev. Fr. Jojo Changanamthundathil as he celebrates his Priestly Ordination Anniversary on the 26th of December.

Happy Birthday to our Dearest Bishop Mar Jose Kalluvelil. May God bless you abundantly and shower you with all his grace and blessings and give you the strength to continue leading us. Thank you so much for all you have done for SMYM Canada. Keeping you in prayers on this special day.

On this , we pray: Loving God, have mercy on your people, and open our hearts to peace and love. Reward all who have died for their country, and grant that Canada and all nations may continue to work for peace and justice. Amen.

Prayer to St. John Paul II

Oh, St. John Paul, from the window of heaven, grant us your blessing! Bless the Church that you loved and served and guided, courageously leading her along the paths of the world in order to bring Jesus to everyone and everyone to Jesus. Bless the young, who were your great passion. Help them dream again, help them look up to the heavens again to find the light that illuminates the paths of life here on earth.

May you bless each and every family! You warned of Satan’s assault against this precious and indispensable divine spark that God lit on earth. St. John Paul, with your prayer, may you protect the family and every life that blossoms from the family.

Pray for the whole world, which is still marked by tensions, wars and injustice. You opposed war by invoking dialogue and planting the seeds of love: pray for us so that we may be tireless sowers of peace.

Oh St. John Paul, from heaven’s window, where we see you beside Mary, send God’s blessing down upon us all. Amen.
