A space to grow...

Envision Greenhouse provides young leaders within the Alliance Canada with meaningful leadership mentoring relationships.

In this 12 week program, young leaders are partnered with experienced mentors from our Alliance family. They also join together for 4 online gatherings that focus on relevant teaching and practical exercises and give space for these leaders to learn together.

Our next cohort launches September 28th, 2024 and registration is now open.

How can you help?

Consider if there are any young leaders (18-28) in your own circles that could benefit from someone mentoring them and encourage them to apply.

If you are an Alliance worker, why not consider registering to be a mentor.

Dan & Jenica from our Mexico City team sharing at this morning on investing in the next generations.

Sharing from the life of Barnabas - who invested in the life of Paul, we are challenged to consider who God might be inviting us to invest in.

One of the great ways to invest in young leaders is our 8-month internship in program - is there a young leader in your life that could benefit from this amazing opportunity?

Having coffee with a friend this morning and we started talking about the reality that the Christian life is one of continued growth… that as we are(and are continually being) sanctified we are continually growing in our Christlikeness. The challenge of course is that this doesn’t just happen magically on its own - we are actually responsible for taking steps in our lives that create environments and opportunities for Holy Spirit to transform us.

Every disciple of Jesus, whether they are a pastor, ministry leader, someone brand new to faith or anywhere in between can learn from Jesus’ example of intimacy with God.

A quick read through Mark’s gospel reveals Jesus engaging in a variety of Spiritual disciplines such as silence, solitude & prayer. Activities that we call Spiritual practices or disciplines.

Spiritual disciplines are those practices that cultivate our hearts, minds and souls for intimacy with God and create opportunities for Holy Spirit to speak to us.

While there is no standardized list of spiritual disciplines- some are more prominent than others and include activities such as: meditation, prayer, fasting, silence, solitude, worship, study of God’s word, journaling, confession and more!

The summer is a great time to continue practicing those spiritual disciplines you already do but it’s also a good time to start engaging with some new ones.

What are some of your favourite spiritual disciplines?
What are the disciplines you find hardest?
If you could pick a new discipline to start what would it be?

Have you ever felt alone? Or have you felt the challenge of finding friends who share your faith?

When I graduated Bible College - I didn’t just move cities, I moved provinces. I remember the deep loneliness I felt as I tried to find friends - especially those connected to a faith community. I remember longing for a community similar to the ones I read about in the book of Acts. Finding friends was hard!

Recently I came across a video addressing North America’s “Friendship Recession” (you can view it here: https://youtu.be/VpOan0hqdNA).

Added to the current reality is the challenge that many young adults seem to be leaving the church… which leaves me wondering: how do you find/build friendships especially those in the context of faith communities?
