We joined Food Security advocates by taking to the Human Rights monument outside City Hall today, rallying for adequate funding to deal with the growing crisis. Food banks are not the solution to poverty, but unless and until our governments help put us “out of business “, they are what we’ve got. We need all hands on deck.
Out at Fall Festival in Dundonald Park talking with & everyone there about food security in our neighbourhood. Local food banks need your help. https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/dalhousie-food-action-group-inc/
On a beautiful sunny 🌞 fall afternoon, we watched PHAC play HC in a soccer ⚽️ match at TAAG stadium. These teams kicked off their workplace 2024 GWCC campaign and collected food to help us stock up for the growing need.
We’ll be at Carleton University (Official) grounds tomorrow for a ⚽️🥅 match. PHAC vs HC.

As part of Hunger Action Month, Dalhousie Food Cupboard is taking part in postcard campaign to drive home the growing realities of so many neighbours trying to make ends meet. Income is too low. Need keeps growing.
We met some people in our sector today and shared small-talk about zested grapefruit leading to creative partnerships and raising money. We spoke about the challenges of maintaining financial sustainability in a not-for-profit world while trying to help people who are struggling with food insecurity. And we agreed that part of our collective mission is to advocate for improved income benefits that will help people afford more necessities.
Some folks from Community Food Centres Canada and The Table Community Food Centre dropped by to see us at Bronson Centre earlier today. We talked about economic challenges facing more and more people everywhere across the country. We agreed that food banks are not the solution to food insecurity. But that we can use our voices to advocate for income benefits and let our elected representatives know that there is more to be done.
Sharing our gratitude for an amazing organization who offers support to charities like ours. A few things we were able to purchase for our neighbours with an Grocery Grant.

Thank you again to this amazing team for their generosity!!!
We made a whoopsie in the kitchen! We didn't put enough juniper berries in a batch of Burnt Honey & Juniper ice cream! Instead of tossing the batch, we made delicious ice cream sandwiches.
On first bite you'll get subtle notes of refreshing pine from juniper berries. Floral aromas of honey take over until you taste the caramelized notes of honey burnt. Add rich chocolate brownie companions and you've got one happy accident.
We'll be donating 50% of the sales of these delicious accidents to the Dalhousie Food Cupboard
If you've read this far, we'll be sending a gluten-free honey graham version to the Parkdale Public Market tonight (12/06).
