Professor Roman Beck and research assistant Signe Agerskov from ITU's European Blockchain Center have been in charge of convening a new set of ethical guidelines for EU's new blockchain infrastructure.

"Not many people are aware that norms and values are codified in a software, which is especially critical when information systems are mandatory to use for everyone in Europe.

Therefore, we need ethical guidelines that meet European values and protect the rights of European citizens," says Professor Roman Beck.

Together with 31 partners from 15 countries Associate Professor Michael Szell will run a new urban mobility project implementing innovative mobility strategies in 12 cities for the next four years. 🚴🚶🙌

The supported JUST STREETS project focuses on developing streets shaped by active mobility that are both sustainable and inclusive for all citizens.

"Putting marginalized social groups, the most vulnerable mobility users, as well as those citizens who previously have been underrepresented in mobility infrastructure decision-making will allow the project to create highly valuable knowhow, critical in creating better, more just, and sustainable cities for all citizens," says Michael Szell.

🥳 CONGRATULATIONS to ITU student Robert Bayer who was awarded the annual CS Thesis Award last Friday! 💪📝🤩

The award is presented by IDA IT, Ingeniørforeningen, Dansk Industri - DI and representatives from all computer science institutes at Danish universities.

In his thesis, which was supervised by Associate Professor Pınar Tözün, Robert used neural networks for image processing in space 🚀, playing a central role in the student run satellite program DISCO. 🛰️✨

During the next two years she will investigate the use of digital innovations for the predictive anticipation, real-time analysis, and early intervention in multiple and intersecting threats to human security in Ghana🇬🇭.

"Disaster Risk Reduction is more pressing than ever. The project, MUNDI, will investigate data collection and analysis that allow Ghanaian government institutions to respond to unfolding disasters in timely and targeted manner," Alena Thiel says.
