The English Room was founded by Eleanor Beatty when she realised how many people were being held back in their careers and further studies because they weren’t able to express themselves in English with confidence.

Eleanor believes the key to overcoming that barrier and opening up the opportunity to progress in the UK is to gain an IELTS qualification, whether you are an A1 or C1 student. By gaining this qualification, you can become a confident and competent English language speaker. This, in turn, transforms your potential in your work, study and everyday encounters.

That’s good too. We have lots of students who just want to meet new people and practise their English and we run events and weekly workshops for people who just want to enjoy learning English for themselves.
