My top 10 health and fitness tips- 8/10.

Technique beats speed.
-
Have you ever seen someone try and blast out a million press ups and end up looking like they’re attempting the worm after 10 tequilas? ….Yeah so have I.

It’s so important to make sure you’re getting the technique correct, and it provides much better results.
-
My advice is, start with less reps and a lighter weight and master the technique on any exercise, whether that’s with weights or body weight.

After you master the technique you can then look to progress your weight/ speed (if necessary).

My top 10 health and fitness tips 4/10.

Analyse your training and progress in blocks.
-
This links into my last post nicely. It’s important to review how your training is going, whether its working and if you need to mix it up.

Personally I analyse every 4 weeks, I believe this is enough time for me ask myself;
A. Am I enjoying my training?
B. Are the workouts challenging?
C. Am I seeing progress?

Personally I think any less than 4 weeks and you’re adding to much pressure for it to work.

Set yourself a plan and focus topic every 4 weeks, for example. (In this block I will focus on building strength, therefore I will weight train 3 times a week and do 1 cardio.)

🧠 Be aware of subconscious stress and anxiety over this Christmas period. This type of tension can come on all of a sudden.

You may feel fine but it has been a tough 18 months for everyone, there has been lots of extra pressure and worry, Christmas can sometimes add to that.

Subconscious anxiety that you aren’t fully aware of can take a toll on mental and physical well-being. Below is how to recognize the signs and get support.

Signs …

Distractibility and disorganisation
Trouble making decisions
Emotional overwhelm
Intrusive thoughts
Fatigue
Lack of motivation
Panic disorder
Sleep disorders

Possible options for anxiety treatment include …

Therapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy.

Medication, such as anti anxiety medications or antidepressants.

Meditation, yoga or breathing exercises.

Lifestyle changes, including getting more exercise and sleep, limiting caffeine, alcohol and sugar.

More time for your own self care can help including solitude, and talking to others about how you feel.

Ultimately awareness and acceptance is key, from there it is about action to help yourself.
