Pension Credit exists to help the poorest pensioners - but you need to claim.
Check online to find out if you, a relative or a friend could be eligible for the additional support that Pension Credit provides: https://ow.ly/NFrR50SQ5iH
The Government will work with external partners and local authorities to boost the uptake of Pension Credit and to target additional support to those who need it most.
The Pension Credit calculator can help you to find out if someone is eligible to apply: https://ow.ly/SsGX50SQ5iG
We strongly oppose the means-testing of the Winter Fuel Payment because it means as many as 2 million pensioners who badly need the money to stay warm this winter will not receive it and will be in serious trouble as a result.
Means-testing the Winter Fuel Payment, with no notice and no compensatory measures to protect poor and vulnerable pensioners, is the wrong policy choice, and one that will potentially jeopardise the health as well as the finances of millions of older people this winter – the last thing either they or the NHS needs.
FibroSupport - Wales Team
We will soon be announcing our first £50 duck race winner which members have entered for as little as £2.

》Nimbus Access card《
Many places recognize this card as the go-to "proof" of disability (Merlin Theme parks use it to confirm eligibility for their RAP).
Access card use a symbol system on the physical card to show what you need help with, there are symbols for standing/queueing, level access (for wheelchair users), distance, urgent toilet needs, assistance dog, essential companion, visual impairment, audible impairment, miscellaneous (everything else).
You send in all your documents and evidence and they assess what you need help with and put the appropriate symbol on the card along with your photo. For instance, if you have the +1 symbol, you would get a free carer ticket, and if you had the queueing symbol, you should be allowed to skip a queue or have a greatly reduced wait. An example of this is Primark, which are great for opening a disabled till (one set lower designed for wheelchair users) if you show your card with the queue symbol.
Most shops will also allow you to use staff toilets if they recognise the card and you have a toilet symbol.

DWP phone lines:
The latest National Audit Office (NAO) found that DWP's "limited transparency about service standards" makes it more likely people will call for an update.
Across eight benefits checked by DWP, it was estimated 31.6 million minutes of phone calls were avoidable - around 43% of time spent on the phone - during the 2022/23 period.
Also, when it comes to answering phone calls faster, DWP replied that it was planning to make more use of text messages to update people, however, it noted that providing up-to-date information is complex so there were delays.
Earlier this year it was announced that they were looking at using AI assistance on the telephone
helplines in a bid to cut call wait times.
Your thoughts?
Have you waited more than 20 minutes to get through to DWP?

Fibro Warrior A song taken from my album, AI, to promote awareness of fibromyalgia
Our team are always absolutely buzzing at HQ each time we support each individual client.
Today we have had a client granted an Individual Assistance Payment (Household Item) via the Discretionary Assistance Fund (DAF)
It made our team's day even better when we done a courtesy call to the client and the client thought that they had been declined this grant so giving the client the good news was amazing feeling for the team, just knowing the relief and how much this item will help this client .
