MB Academy does “Let’s Dance …… for Charity !”

Sunday 29th September 2pm & 7pm performances.

Our competition team will be presenting their latest competition repertoire in a show to raise funds and awareness for children’s mental health.

We hope to be able to come together and raise funds for a local charity OPEN MINDS DONCASTER.

Open Minds provide counselling services for Children aged 8-17 and they’re in the process of launching an arts and nurture group. This is for individuals who aren’t mentally able to attend school from past experiences of bullying , social anxiety to name but a few. Our aim is to help them on their way to provide a safe environment with funding for those who cannot afford private support or able to wait in the everlasting waiting lists we currently face in the uk system.

Our last contribution helped Open Minds fund 3 children to have counselling weekly for 12 months.

Mental health in children is at an all time high and this is something that is so close to our hearts. Even just a small amount of awareness can help and we endeavour to support the next generation wherever we possibly can.

Did you know that Open Minds support children aged 8 and over, and adults of any age? We offer counselling on any issue, and 100% of the people we have worked with who were suicidal improved their mental health as a result of working with us.

We also have the IMPACT team who work specifically with adults who have made a su***de attempt, helping them rebuild their lives and recover.

We are very fortunate to be a member of the Doncaster Crisis Alternatives Alliance - working with PFG, Doncaster Mind and DRASACS, as well as our NHS and Local Authority partners to help people recover from crisis, move towards mental health, and maintain their mental well being at every stage of their mental health journey.

Proud to announce that our September Show will be a charity show supporting Doncaster Open Minds counselling services.

Sunday 29th September 2pm & 7pm at CAST.

Mental health is a taboo subject , yet more and more youngsters are struggling with this illness. We are proud to be able to support Open Minds who provide counselling services to children aged 8-17 years.

The money raised will be able to aid build their art and nurture group.
This will be a very small group of around 4 teens aged 13 to 16, who have been bullied for being different, who are socially anxious and probably avoid school, or might even be home educated now. It's a fun, therapeutic activity to help build those children up and teach them to rebuild friendships of similar likeminded individuals who also struggle.

Absolutely incredible fundraising efforts from the lovely team at Bessacarr Open Gardens - we had a lovely weekend spending time with visitors to the gardens, and, now this amazing news has made our week !

We spent some time improving our knowledge, growing our skills and sharing our learning.

Having a slightly damp but lovely time at Bessacarr Open Gardens- come along and say hello!

Open Minds were really honoured today to be at the unveiling of the Doncaster Pride First Bus - it was properly impressive, shiny and bold.

It was also a lovely and meaningful expression of support for LGBT rights at a time when all over the world, and in the UK, those rights are under threat.

It was a privilege for some of our team to be at the unveiling of the Pride Bus.
