Doncaster Pride in collaboration with Savoy Doncaster, LGSM, Hull Trains, and Heritage Lottery is delighted to bring you a special screening of the movie Pride and an all-star Q&A session with Mike Jackson, Jonathan Blake and Dai Donovan, three of the original people involved in this amazing story and depicted in the film.

Join us on the Friday night before UK Pride for a very special night as it will see invited guests, UK Pride Doncaster team and sponsors all mingling with the special guests and there is a limited capacity to the public to be there too.

Tickets just £5 and include a drink on arrival as well as a limited-edition commemorative LGSM and Pride cloth wristband and loads of opportunities for photos with our special guests.

As we remember the 40th anniversary of the miners’ strike this is a story that needs to be told and told again.

The 40th anniversary of the Miners Strike sees the parade recreate those scenes of solidarity once again.

The BT Group Parade of Unity will set off from Duke Steet at 10:30.

Pride bus launch Our Pride bus is now in service!

Today was a big day for UK Pride Doncaster! We made beer!

Two members of the team have spent the day at Doncaster Brewery & Tap brewing our very own PRIDE BEER!

We’ve learned about mash and liqueur and hops and malt and how beer is made from Ian, the finest brewer in Doncaster.

We’ve stirred and mixed and tasted and poured and smelled the process of brewing and we can’t wait for the results!

Ian selected the hops.. harlequin and jester, not just for their taste but also because of the colourful costumes worn by both in a tribute to our rainbow community.

Our very own ‘home brewed’ ale with a low AVB, vegan, gluten free/reduced (all subject to final testing) with a fabulous name (we will reveal later) will be on sale at Doncaster Brewery during Pride Week and stocked by all our pride bars on Aug 10.

It’s not our first beer and lots of other prides have their own beers.. but this beer is brewed in Doncaster and made for you by Doncaster Brewery assisted by our own team.. 🌈🦁

We can’t wait for you to try it!

Oh.. prize of 2 free pints for the nearest guess to the total number of pints brewed .. oh and does anyone know what a firkin is? Well it’s lots of firkins!

One question we hear often... is there anywhere to sit down at Pride? well apart from the masses of grass yes, there are actually two ways to grab a seat!

The Pride Village VIP area has oodles of space and scattered around, amongst the luxury toilet units, private bar, acts and performers and Prides from all over the UK.. you'll find - PICNIC BENCHES! yay! Since the launch of the Pride Bus we’ve seen a spike in hate towards the community. Various posts hyjacked by people posting vile homophobic comments and pictures.

Firstly, we are not listening… and we are not going away!

Secondly, we are a proud community and we’ve seen and heard it before.

Get on the bl*ody bus… it’s not going to convert you whilst you’re on your way to work!

You’re not going to get off and be presented with a commemorative glitter ball!

It’s not driven by a “pervert” 🤬

Children aren’t being groomed 🤯

It’s a bus! It’s supporting a community and an event that has at its heart equality, inclusion and diversity.

We dig deep and we try harder to educate on equity for ALL - clearly we have a long way to go with some people.

But… and ALWAYS there is good. Remember there is way more love than hate. The voices may be loud at times but we got this 🌈🌈🌈🌈

Thank you to UK Pride Doncaster Travel Partner First South Yorkshire for their support of Pride and wider support of the LGBT+ community of Doncaster.

The visibility brought by this bus, that will be in service from tomorrow across routes in Doncaster, is so, so important.

We know some people won’t approve… we know negativity and hate will find its way onto social media - because sadly that’s what happens. But, projects like this are vital and support from organisations like First will help tackle these prejudices and break down the barriers to greater equality for all.

Our community needs to come together to outnumber those who may wish to criticise, who may want to verbalise their homophobia… so we’re asking you to fill our feed and that of First with positivity and love.

After all isn’t that what Pride is all about?
