Trauma/Fascia Release works to release physical or emotional trauma in the body. This release works primarily on the vagus nerve to shift the Central Nervous System from fight /flight to rest/repair, based on 3 movements a caregiver would use with a newborn baby. Stroking, swaddling & rocking. The Psoas muscle is also a key muscle in trauma physical/mental and nerves can cause constriction in the hip area. The pressure movements can help release this. Rocking allows the body to shake out any trauma, unlike animals, we do not shake out or release tension in the body and the body can unconsciously develop a holding pattern often leading to longer term conditions IBS, migraine, headache.

In Systemic Family Constellations founded by Bert Hellinger we are looking at what is behind our patterns/ coping strategies. Research into epigenetics has shown that we carry experiences, health conditions and traits of our ancestors good and bad. Often unconsciously and out of loyalty to a parent/grandparent, we will carry or atone for something in their life that may have been too painful for them to see at that time. As humans we are built for survival and to survive, we develop a distraction, a coping strategy to allow life to carry on. Often taking the form of alcohol, addiction, overwork, excess exercise, financial, any distraction which will avoid looking at the trauma. However, the trauma is not the biggest problem, it is the coping strategy that causes the problems. We survived the trauma if we lived to tell the tale, but it has changed us in some way. Patterns become ways of being, so stuck that it can become impossible to see them. Then secondary emotions come into play i.e. excessive anger, anxiety, avoidance, money issues, relationship problems etc can be attributed to trauma some of which may not be our own or may be from an invalid perspective at a time when cognition was limited. In constellations we can work 1-1 or in a small group, to look at the issue and alongside representatives we can unpick a pattern. There is no judgement and the premise that all belongs and needs to be seen and acknowledged in order to be released with responsibility for any consequences being handed back to the ancestor and different intention set, and energetic shift takes place and a change of perspective can allow changes and improvements in the lives of those involved.
