My mission at Discovering Truths is to help people feel more confident and independent in their healing journey.

I’ve spent 20 years combining my own lived experiences with professional expertise in trauma, addiction, ADHD, and relationships.
As a neurodiverse, mixed-race woman who’s walked her own recovery path, I bring empathy and understanding to my work.

I believe we’re like jigsaws, with different pieces of ourselves coming together over time for a fuller recovery and like to collaborate with others to ensure all your needs are met.

I’d love to know what you’d like to hear from me on this platform, let me know in the comments!

Hi everyone, there’s a few more friendly faces around here so I thought I would reintroduce myself for those who don’t know me!

My name is Beth and I am a psychotherapist and mental health nurse.

My career began around 20 years ago, and I became a nurse specialist in Addictions and Eating Disorders.

I chose to develop my skills into psychotherapy at the beginning of my nursing career as I had a desire to be able to further support the clients I worked with.

As my journey continued, I started to recognise that often the clients I worked with had additional needs and noticed that trauma, relationship and s*x struggles and also neurodiversity were commonplace with the clients I was working with.

Over the years I have developed my practice by continuing to train and becoming an EMDR practitioner, studying clinical s*xology and also ADHD assessment and treatment to better support my clients individual needs.

I have a strong belief that everyone can live in the recovery they choose if they the right support and that motivates me to keep learning and gaining experience so I can join you on a journey to success!

Please feel free to say hello in the comments!🌸

Are animals more empathic than humans? Does your pet give you the best companionship or drive you up the wall? Pets are loyal, don’t interrupt and some give you undivided attention. This one just bit me! (Benefit of the doubt it was affectionate…) Answers below 👇🏽

If you are in recovery from alcohol addiction, or struggle to maintain your alcohol intake, one thing that comes up during my therapy sessions is that airports can be a huge trigger for relapse or drinking too much.

Whether it's anxiety, anticipation or wanting to let your hair down, or maybe just because you "can". If you are hoping to maintain your abstinence from alcohol at the airport watch the above video for my top three tips on staying sober at the airport.
