We can help you achieve your goal, be it preparing to travel to altitude, or to improve your health or fitness. We provide simulated altitude training to world champion athletes and sports teams. We can also provide you with altitude systems to rent, allowing you to acclimatise to altitude in the comfort of your own home or office.
October Client Success!!🏔️📈 Another month has passed and many more challenges have been taken on. Congratulations to all our clients who worked hard and reached their goals this month 😊 The altitude centre team also took on Mount Toubkal in Morocco and completed a successful summit.
Why do you climb?
Jon Krakauer asks this very question in his gripping account of the ‘96 Everest disaster, writing:
“Men climb mountains, as they do all activities, to win objects of desire - in this case, the summits themselves. But I believe there is an even deeper reason for engaging in high-risk pursuits of any kind. It has to do with a hardwired craving common to all humans, an unthinking, irrational urge not only to take one’s survival for granted but to run immense risks in defiance of all regard for self-preservation.....
On the highest ridge it seems to me that one is perpetually insecure. And perhaps it is this very insecurity that is keenly satisfying, forcing one to be awake and therefore alive all the time, for sleeping souls will never experience the exquisite vibrancy of the high mountains.”

😢 We have officially said goodbye to Hannah, Maisie and Rebecca, our placement students for the 2023/24 year
Having 3 students for the first time has given the centre room to grow with new insights and knowledge:
💪 Rebecca, with her S&C expertise, introduced Small Group PT sessions as well as designing the first ever TAC Games!
👩🔬 Maisie, with an aptitude for academics, was an asset in running consultations and testing, and also wrote her own research blog!
📸 Hannah, with her innovation and charm, was great at designing new social media projects and executing bold ideas, while bringing a lighthearted feel to the centre.
With these 3 moving on to finish their degrees at Loughborough, we’d like to welcome our new students for the 2024/25 year…
🏉Matt has always been involved in sport, playing both football and rugby from a young age; he continues to play rugby whilst at uni. He is the first student to come from Newcastle University (“the best university in the country”) so watch out for more bold statements like this..! He is very excited to meet everyone and climb Toubkal with the team.
🤸🏼♀️Maisie (yes, another!) has a large background in gymnastics and trampolining, however recently discovered her love for cheerleading at the University of Bath. Originally from Brighton, she has always enjoyed being outside and active. This year she is training towards her first half marathon, as well as the climb up Mt Toubkal with the rest of the team to add to her altitude adventures.
🏃♂️Steve has always been a keen runner, hoping it would get him out of the difficult work that is being a functional adult. Eventually growing up and having to choose a degree, he decided on sport science at Loughborough University to learn about how to run even faster! This year he’s training to compete on the national stage as a steeplechaser, and to summit Mt Toubkal with the rest of the new crew.
We’re looking forward to see what this new year will bring! 🙌

What a year it’s been so far at The Altitude Centre! 🌟 From summiting Everest 🏔️, Kilimanjaro 🏞️, and Denali 🗻, to conquering Everest Base Camp 🏕️, marathons 🏃♂️, ultra-marathons 🎽, and everything in between. We’re incredibly proud of our clients’ relentless determination and incredible achievements! 🙌
This year, we also hosted our very first Altitude Centre Games 🥇 and a successful Hyrox case study 💪. The sky’s the limit, and we’re just getting started! 🚀
