Dearest customers: tomorrow is my last day at the grill for some time. I am taking a deserved sabbatical which may last longer that just a Sabbat. Ownership stays the same and I will be closely involved with everything that happens in the restaurant, but the intensity of the job and that of the last few years has taken its toll. Need a break. Andy Warhol predicted that everybody would be famous for 15 minutes. There is a take in this documentary of my hand tuning over a piece of boneless flank (vacío) in the Buen Ayre grill that lasts 0.30 seconds, so I am still owed 14 minutes and 59.5 seconds, Andy. However, about 1/5 of it is filmed in our Broadway Market restaurant. You will recognise it straight away if a customer. Gracias Marcela Mora y Araujo for choosing our place. I was reminded just today that if you type "parrilla Argentina Londres" on Google, we still come up first. After 19 years. Feels good.

The BBC is making a second episode of their Messi documentary (part I is available on iPlayer) and a few days after conducting an interview in Buen Ayre, they decided they wanted to get some shots of a proper Argentine grill at work. So they came yesterday. Part II coming out at the end of May. We might catch a glimpse of myself in it. Quite chuffed, to be honest.

Last night Argentina played for the first time a football game in Buenos Aires since the World Cup. It was a most incredible party, more than 1 million people applied for the 83k seats available. The police were targeting the illegal resale of tickets, most of them fake. Among the items confiscated were grills. Grills!! Our one in Hackney was the first one ever used commercially in the U.K., since 2004. Come and see what it is all about.
