We are very pleased to announce that we will be running our foundation training twice in 2024.
Firstly an online training that will commence in January 2024, with Kari Valtanen, Anni Haase, Petra Hohn and Nick Putman. Though we are now able to do more face-to-face trainings once again, it is clear that an online training is still a welcome option for those who are not able to travel to London. So, having had a very positive experience of running this training online on three occasions, we have decided to offer it again. The deadline for applications is 31 July 2023, and further details can be found here: https://opendialogueapproach.co.uk/training/foundation/
Secondly we will be running the foundation training in London, and this programme will commence in February 2024, with Anni Haase, Richard Armitage, Nick Putman and Darren Baker. This is the first time that we ourselves have organised an in person Open Dialogue training programme since the pandemic and it feels good to be doing so. The deadline for applications is 14 July 2023, and further details can be found here: https://opendialogueapproach.co.uk/training/foundation-london/
This foundation training is an internationally recognised programme for professionals working in public mental health services (including peer workers) and independent practitioners. We have also been able to welcome family members onto some of our programmes. We welcome applications from people in different countries, providing applicants are able to speak English well enough to engage in the programme.
This is the most widely used Open Dialogue training programme internationally, and has now been run by Open Dialogue UK on 17 occasions, in five different countries, including five times on an in-house basis in the NHS in the UK.
Foundation Training - London 2024 Details can now be found online.
We are pleased to announce that we are now able to resume our online seminars to introduce the Open Dialogue approach, after a break of nearly a year. We plan to run these seminars quarterly and the next will take place next week, on 25 May. There are still a few places available, with different rates for service users, family members, students, independent practitioners and organisations. These one-day introductory seminars are led by Nick Putman and give a thorough overview of the Open Dialogue approach, including the development of the approach, the service in Western Lapland, the 7 principle of Open Dialogue, key elements of dialogic practice and research into the approach. There is an opportunity to discuss the approach in small groups with others attending. For further details and to book a place please visit this page on the Open Dialogue UK website:
