Back in my happy place with Friday Curry Number 92: So good to see all the neighbours, hearing their stories and genuinely good vibes all round. I have made many butter chicken recipes, but recipe is by far the best! I think it’s the cheeky added pinch of saffron that makes it so special. Thanks, Chetna!

Just playing around with ideas for a potential client. I had so much fun making googly eyes 👀 with royal icing. I just want to stick them everywhere now!!

Basque Cheesecake. Best tip is to pull it out of the oven when it’s risen really high but still very jiggly in the middle. Don’t be afraid. And the ‘burnt’ top is an essential component of the whole - it brings depth to the flavour

Sei Lankan Black Pork Curry. First you roast pepper, cloves, cardamom, coriander, cumin, fennel and mustard seeds to make a dark spice blend and then add tamarind, curry leaves, garlic, ginger and cook until tender. It tastes complex with dark with a sour tang.

Hard to beat wild mushroom risotto with truffle 🥰 Big flavours of deep winter - yum 🤤

called for a special delivery for Cookie, the dog! 🐶 So, here’s her name painted in gold on a carrot and banana cake with peanut butter and toasted pumpkin seeds. A vegan treat Cookie can actually share with her owner. 🐶

Let’s go double time! Spicy samosas in one and mushroom croquettes in the other. Deep frying is great fun but cleaning deep fryers not so much 😁

I unearthed this bottle of sloe gin I made back in 2017. Oh my goodness. Mulled wine just leveled up! It’s mellowed out completely to an unctuous, almost port like flavour. I also use dark brown sugar and cinnamon bark (cassia) for its more earthy tones. It’s raining outside. Wish you were here # # #

Cinnamon sugar doughnut balls! Christmas Bake #1! They were so good and fluffy and warm and soft and crunchy. Especially good with a dollop of salted caramel sauce or lemon curd. Oh yummmm. I almost didn’t have a moment to take a picture. Delicious enriched dough…
